Hay guise.

I sent an used unit of iPhone 4 (bought on April 29, 2011) to Maxis KLCC about two days ago, due to loose part inside the iPhone (there was rattling sounds when I and Maxis reps shake the iPhone).

So they changed the iPhone 1 to 1 with a replacement unit. All settled in 30 minutes sans the usual waiting game before you see those reps.

Several things I observed.

1. They don't know/don't care if I JB the unit. Obviously I sent it in restored to stock.

2. They claimed the replacement unit is indeed new. I don't think so.

3. The replacement unit, OUT OF THE BOX ALSO GOT RATTLING SOUND. Almost similar things happen to my wife's new set.

On April 29 (the day I bought two units of iPhone 4) out of the box, there is no sound. They brought the unit somewhere else, and came back. Suddenly got sound.

Now my wife's unit sometime no sound. When she massages a bit beside the Home Button, the sound comes back. She don't want to change 1 to 1. Malas she said.

So my point is, when you go to replace any unit do check it super meticulously. I got rattling sound from my 1st iPhone 4 (1 month old), I got rattling sound from my 2nd iPhone 4 (several seconds old), my wife got NO sound from her iPhone 4.

Now I'm on my third unit of iPhone 4. So far so good.

Did you check whether your iPhone 4 replacement set has a yellow screen or blue tint screen ? My friend got replacement klcc also but yellow screen unit. Complained again they say it is due to different LCD manufacturer therefore yellow.

you can use a tool to check the manufacture date if they claim it is new. try to use itools from www.itools.hk
but i am pretty sure any replacement unit is refurbished set but in perfect condition and cosmetically new.

for LCD blueish or yellowish, there will be no different from Apple POV, so they wont do anything on this.

I've called up Maxis 123 to file my complaints today! And, I've now converted my lines to other operators.

Things are like this, share with u all.. Hopefully you won't get caught with this ''being CHEATed'' experience!

I went to Maxis center KLCC last month on 17th May to upgrade my data plan from 500GB to 1.5GB; at the end of the billing day, what I got it's excess data usage! Guess what~ my actual data usage for the entire month is only 462MB, not even excess the old quota 500MB, and I'm actually upgraded to 1.5GB..

So, I've found out from Maxis center in The Gardens today that they'll separate the charging rate base on 2 different plan based on before and after 18 May. I was being double charged based on this calculation
1)24 to 18 May: pro-rated daily usage = 500MB / 30 days x 25 days;
2)18 to 24 (my monthly billing date): pro-rated daily usage = 1.5GB / 30 days x 6 days.

So even though my usage is less than 500mb, but based on pro-rated calculation, I have used more than allowed. So I was charge crazily expensive data charges!

This is an idot calculating system! .. Or, rather to say, it's a gimmick for them to earn millions of dollars /mth from customers''so-called' excess data usage!!

And, the time I was ugrding my data plan, no customer service representative explain this point to me !! So, I'm feeling being cheated !!

You paid to upgrade your data usage, but grab an "extra charges" at your billing date!

guys, just say i have dis situation.

bought iphone4 on 28 may 2011 with ivalue1. now check outstanding is 300bucks as per today and its barred now. logic given by CS is call n data was prorated and billin resets on 1/6/2011. thus ur data was prorated on may2011. so u got charged 250bucks extra. can i still fight wit dem n tell dem i was not informed bout the prorated part n want dem to waive my 250 bucks data charge coz rightfully after i bought d fone it was always inside d 1gb limit. and it wasnt stated anywhere in d contract dat my billin wud start on 1st every mth. now they unbarred me temporarily but have to make min payment of 150bucks. i guess im stil bein charged for the 250bucks.

so wats d chances i can get d 250 waived?

hey guys,
I got the same situation like yours too...
i got my phone on 30 May 2011 with ivalue1.
My phone got barred today and i make the payment without checking d bill.
i got a shock now as my data charges alone is RM240.

i got the 250 waived.

1. i told dem its not in d contract for dem to prorate the 1st mth bill.
2. SA shud have informed us wen we bought d fone but failed to do so. and im stil in d 1gb limit.
3. its common sense to assume dat billin starts on d day we bought the fone.
4. if they dun waive, i wil bring d issue to newspaper, tribunal court and consumerism ministry.

they kecut and said they will waive straight away. do up ur voice to sound stern n angry.

Hey guys I have a question and really need some opinions.

I bought my iPhone a month ago with a one year contract. According to maxis, their iPhone is unlocked so basically we can use the phone with any operators. I'm leaving to study abroad in India after a year. So is it possible for me to still use my iPhone in india by subscribing to India's prepaid operators? Or should I just leave my iPhone back in Malaysia and use a normal phone instead?

well, it do works sometime... but, i felt that really depends on what kind of CS you dealing with..

if you complain to the CS who care about their companies brand and good in working attitude, then it's fine..

but if you complaint to the CS who don't care about their comapnies image n brand, then you'll get headache and disappoint on the poor service you received.. doh.gif
