*
you can use value plan + mobile internet (RM58 for 1.5gb)

sorry i didnt see any rm 68 unlimited plan in maxis site, or you are talking about digi smart plan rm 68 ?

yes there is rm68 plan which is 3gb with speed uncapped up to 7.2mbps...
while the 58 plan is 1.5gb with speed cap @ 1mbps..
i think i going to change my plan to rm30 value plan + 68 data plan which consider way much cheaper..
do you know how they impose penalty when we still in the plan?
i still got 4 month to go  sweat.gif
*
i was using the very first ivalue plan when iPhone 3G launch in Msia by Maxis
and i terminate it 2 months before the mature date, which mean i used it for 10months
they will offer you 2 options
- change to any other postpaid plan
- penalty

for penalty amount, you can call/walk in to ask and they will calculate for you

Rm 30 + RM 68 data indeed is better, at least you got 3GB and perhaps a faster internet speed.

iValue plan never worth it but no choice peoples have to sign it because that is the only way you get iPhone from Maxis,

i just got my maxis iphone 4 yesterday, they didnt even explain how to use it,izzit supposed to be like tat?

got with the rm100 ivalue 1 plan,if i dont use more than my limit it's gonna be rm100 only till end of contract right?
*
definitely more then RM 100 on your bill
- 6% government tax which is RM 6(min)
- call forward/accidentally pressed voice mail in your iphone and bla bla bla (alot ppl hate this part but this is Maxis), but this can be waived somehow.

last time i was paying average RM 110+- per month if i never exist any (call, sms, mms, data), as i do send sms internationally, laugh.gif

if refer to your link, u still have to pay after u exceed the quota.
as far as i know from my fren billing is rm100 + rm 68 which is considering broadband
broadband no need usb dongle as they use sim card and phone number as well so they can use in any phone with 3g capabilities..
just surprise to know it last 2 weeks where my fren ivalue plan can combine with broadband plan under same number and same sim card sweat.gif
*
that is mobile internet if i not mistaken.
the best is to check with maxis directly to seek for the possibilities blush.gif

Is there any penalty for terminating my current iValue Plan 2? I have been subscribing this plan since the day iPhone 4 was launched and it's a 24 months contract period. Most likely I think it would have to pay certain amount of penalty charge, but I would like to know how much I should pay and what are the consequences if terminate the plan? Thank you so much.
*
you may call up and ask
most probably is the amount that you wouldnt want to bear

my personal experience with my very first iPhone 3G with maxis when i want to terminate at the 10th month, out of the 12 months contract
yes it can be done with 2 options

1. Penalty with formula given by Maxis
2. switch to any other postpaid plan by Maxis

Contracts are always negotiable with Maxis, depend whether you meet the right person to discuss or not. Some operator over the phone just dont have enough knowledge or power to decide anything

QUOTE(LEVIATHAN @ Jun 10 2011, 08:51 AM)
Hay guise.

I sent an used unit of iPhone 4 (bought on April 29, 2011) to Maxis KLCC about two days ago, due to loose part inside the iPhone (there was rattling sounds when I and Maxis reps shake the iPhone).

So they changed the iPhone 1 to 1 with a replacement unit. All settled in 30 minutes sans the usual waiting game before you see those reps.

Several things I observed.

1. They don't know/don't care if I JB the unit. Obviously I sent it in restored to stock.

2. They claimed the replacement unit is indeed new. I don't think so.

3. The replacement unit, OUT OF THE BOX ALSO GOT RATTLING SOUND. Almost similar things happen to my wife's new set.

On April 29 (the day I bought two units of iPhone 4) out of the box, there is no sound. They brought the unit somewhere else, and came back. Suddenly got sound.

Now my wife's unit sometime no sound. When she massages a bit beside the Home Button, the sound comes back. She don't want to change 1 to 1. Malas she said.

So my point is, when you go to replace any unit do check it super meticulously. I got rattling sound from my 1st iPhone 4 (1 month old), I got rattling sound from my 2nd iPhone 4 (several seconds old), my wife got NO sound from her iPhone 4.

Now I'm on my third unit of iPhone 4. So far so good.
*
you can use a tool to check the manufacture date if they claim it is new. try to use itools from www.itools.hk
but i am pretty sure any replacement unit is refurbished set but in perfect condition and cosmetically new.

for LCD blueish or yellowish, there will be no different from Apple POV, so they wont do anything on this.

Hey guys I have a question and really need some opinions.

I bought my iPhone a month ago with a one year contract. According to maxis, their iPhone is unlocked so basically we can use the phone with any operators. I'm leaving to study abroad in India after a year. So is it possible for me to still use my iPhone in india by subscribing to India's prepaid operators? Or should I just leave my iPhone back in Malaysia and use a normal phone instead?
*
yes you may bring your phone to india
if and only if india is using GSM and not CDMA

i went thru several RMA at QCD Tagore and i can tell you the process flow is as below. They promised that the replacement unit is
- cosmetically new.
- assemble and tested using the same process/environment as what they are doing to produce new set.

1. walk-in, take a number and wait
2. when it is your turn, hand over the phone and mention the problem, my case is mostly home button
3. they will not troubleshoot the home button but will straight away take out a black box from their drawer
4. they start checking your unit, from the earphone hole (water damage), sim card tray, and open up back panel to check battery. They will never look at any scratches or dent.
5. scan the barcode on the black box
6. hand the replacement set and ask you to do your own checking
7. if everything is ok, you can sign the replacement acceptance and you are good to go.

Total process take less than 10minutes

and you can check the warranty at selfservice webpage and it will show the remaining period from your set.
and they are always advise us to extend waranty by buying applecare which cost you SGD 99.00 for an extra one year. Personally i think it worth.

As any iPhone send in for repair (out-of-warranty), they will charge a fixed amount of SGD 350.00 for whatever replacemen (cracked screen, dead battery, and etc etc)

if they give you a new set, you will go replace it 1-2months especially some kiasus singaporean. White/Black set for apple is the same, they just need to change the front and black panel, the charger area and the earphone to white one and assign a new serial number to differentiate the unit.

http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html

funny url but it is a good one to know more about ur iDevice/Mac by keying serial number

you maybe lucky if they are replacing you a non-yellowish one. but definitely the serial number will change to differentiate your unit from new one.

no need to bring any box/receipt/proof of purchase/owner
as they only recognised the phone itself, not the owner smile.gif

Some other useful information

While the last 3 digits of iPhone serial number are indicative of color and size, the 3-digit should be read together to determine which generation, size and color of iPhone. Here’s the list of possible iPhone models:

VR0 (iPhone 2G Silver 4GB)
WH8 (iPhone 2G Silver 8GB)
0KH (iPhone 2G Silver 16GB)
Y7H (iPhone 3G Black 8GB)
Y7K (iPhone 3G Black 16GB)
3NP (iPhone 3GS Black 16GB)
3NR (iPhone 3GS Black 32GB)
3NQ (iPhone 3Gs White 16GB)
3NS (iPhone 3Gs White 32GB)
A4S (iPhone 4 Black 16GB)
A4T (iPhone 4 Black 32GB)

from the email i receive from Apple SG. it is clearly stated that repair will not be carried out at their level so they can only provide replacement unit.

but for Msia telco, it is from Brightstar. and only those signup iPhone 3G with maxis can give you the answer for 2nd year services.
