The answer is imposibble... Wanna get iPhone 4 without contract. Celcom got one. But need to purchased their Xpax prepaid number first. And topup RM50. Then you can get iPhone 4 without contract.
*
of coz CAN purchase the iphone from MAXIS without contract..just need to call the MEP shops first...the MEP shops at BANGSAR Shopping Centre for example..they allow u to buy the white set of iphone 4 for outright price (RM2190)..all u have to do is call them first at early morning before u go to buy it..i also buy the white set of iphone 4 without contract from..just need to call them first to know whether they have stock to release for outright purchase..i have to wait for 1 day before i can purchase the white set of iphone 4 from them.. biggrin.gif

It's possible to buy a Maxis iphone without contract but you have to get lucky. Better buy from Celcom with Xpax prepaid number. You can always replace with your own SIM if you don't need the data.
*
Yup..some MEP store will ask u to wait for two or three days before u can buy it without contract..if u got a fren working at MEP or MAXIS center u can buy it straight away..hehe wink.gif

yes why not ?
they just change the front and back plate  smile.gif
there are 2 definitions for LL
1. American unlocked units
2. refurbish set. If i am not mistaken i saw some ppl posted before it start with 5k and ended with LL smile.gif

and you tends to get a yellowish/warmer screen
*
haa??yellowish??how come???why im not getting the new set??i thought white set didnt have any refurbish set yet...n why they give the yellowish/warmer screen unit???cant accept this kind of policies..its ok for me if it's a refurbish unit but can't accept if they give me yellowish/warmer unit! vmad.gif

i went thru several RMA at QCD Tagore and i can tell you the process flow is as below

1. walk-in, take a number and wait
2. when it is your turn, hand over the phone and mention the problem, my case is mostly home button
3. they will not troubleshoot the home button but will straight away take out a black box from their drawer
4. they start checking your unit, from the earphone hole (water damage), sim card tray, and open up back panel to check battery.
5. scan the barcode on the black box
6. hand the replacement set and ask you to do your own checking
7. if everything is ok, you can sign the replacement acceptance and you are good to go.

and you can check the warranty at selfservice webpage and it will show the remaining period from your set.
and they are always advise us to extend waranty by buying applecare which cost you SGD 99.00 for an extra one year. Personally i think it worth.

As any iPhone send in for repair (out-of-warranty), they will charge a fixed amount of SGD 350.00 for whatever replacemen (cracked screen, dead battery, and etc etc)
*
owh...so i need to check the replacement unit that given before sign the acceptance rite??got any tips to spot the yellowish/warmer unit r?? shakehead.gif cry.gif BTW the steps that u mention above is totally rite but in my case they ask me to wait for three days coz they didn't have replacement unit for white set.that's why i thought they will give me a new set..n BTW they didn't ask me to bring the box..the only ask me to give the warranty card to check with the phone n sim card tray.. hmm.gif hmm.gif

funny url but it is a good one to know more about ur iDevice/Mac by keying serial number

you maybe lucky if they are replacing you a non-yellowish one. but definitely the serial number will change to differentiate your unit from new one.

no need to bring any box/receipt/proof of purchase/owner
as they only recognised the phone itself, not the owner smile.gif
*
~sigh~ so how to spot the difference between the yellowish n non yellowish??is it easy to spot on it??really2 worried about this... cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

Some other useful information

While the last 3 digits of iPhone serial number are indicative of color and size, the 3-digit should be read together to determine which generation, size and color of iPhone. Here’s the list of possible iPhone models:

VR0 (iPhone 2G Silver 4GB)
WH8 (iPhone 2G Silver 8GB)
0KH (iPhone 2G Silver 16GB)
Y7H (iPhone 3G Black 8GB)
Y7K (iPhone 3G Black 16GB)
3NP (iPhone 3GS Black 16GB)
3NR (iPhone 3GS Black 32GB)
3NQ (iPhone 3Gs White 16GB)
3NS (iPhone 3Gs White 32GB)
A4S (iPhone 4 Black 16GB)
A4T (iPhone 4 Black 32GB)
*
so if it's the white refurbish set whats the 3 digits??or they gonna change the front n black plate??hurmm sad.gif cry.gif

- earphone

and you can also double matching your IMEI with the one on simcard tray

my replacement unit have a great battery life now  laugh.gif  laugh.gif
*
hehe...will test the sound at full volume speaker n test it using the earphone n most important to test snapping some pics! btw if i detect the screen yellowish i can claim for new set rite??

Yeah, only Maxis will decide whether to replace you another one or not. As long as the set functions correctly, then you are SAFE. Lol. If not, problems will keep strike you. Haha. THe most important thing is follow the instructions during jailbreak. =)
*
hurm...before this i use 3gs never have a single problem but after i used iphone 4 for a month a problem strike....aiyoo...so unlucky cry.gif

BTW underGr0und_8 u told me that we can buy the extended warranty for the iphone...mind to share with us the steps to extend the warranty?? brows.gif brows.gif

from the email i receive from Apple SG. it is clearly stated that repair will not be carried out at their level so they can only provide replacement unit.

but for Msia telco, it is from Brightstar. and only those signup iPhone 3G with maxis can give you the answer for 2nd year services.
*
Brightstar??is it the company which selling n distribute the original set of BB??so the same company will do the replacement unit for local telco set?? rclxub.gif rclxub.gif
