QUOTE(klseet @ Sep 6 2010, 10:47 PM) I actually forgot those variables on the VOIP page, so restore seem to be the only method ... Anywhere, I suppose just have to fill-up your real telephone number and the password which was emailed by TM during registration: [attachmentid=1768242] Hey guys it work like charm for me. Just change phone number and the password, leave public username blank. SID ID : +603Yournumber Auth username : +603Yournumber@ims.tm.com.my Public Username : Nothing Password is the one that TM gave you when u register Unifi. You should have a form for this or Email if they send u email for the information. I hope this simple guide is good enough for other user. BACKUP Config files b4 doing anything. and BACKUP another one again after you fix the problem. This post has been edited by billytong: Sep 6 2010, 11:51 PM

I am having phobia turning off/restarting the ZTE VDSL2 modem. Everytime I turned it off, I will have to wait nearly an hour to get a stable link.
Grr....

Hi to all the GURUs here... I am currently using the Fiberhome BTU (FTTH), i just checked my VOIP and it is not affected by the problem reported by other user here, however i want to ask if i am at risk here ? or it only affect those with Huawei / Alcatel BTU ? Anyway i can secure the Fiberhome BTU ? Thanks in advance.
By the way, is that possible to call TM to request to change the BTU to Huawei ? It looks so much better than the Fiberhome BTU...

All BTUs are vulnerable but it seems that only Huawei users have been affected at the moment. Fiberhome can be secured via the Console port but you need additional hardware and the fix is only temporary (till the next reboot).

I also have the corrupted downloads and VOIP problem..
Fixed the VOIP issue using the guide provided here.. It is not even funny how the phone number get changed in the Huawei settings.
Could it be that the corrupted downloads issue related to packet loss that I have been having all this while?

It finally came back today and I'm using Fiberhome. This does not look good. Seeing as I don't have the hardware, this means I can't do anything about it except hope TM comes to their senses and changes the username password for me? Shit. I'm screwed....

I would not rely on Unifi VOIP for critical services such as alarm system communications.. one issue being no power = no line and the other is this security hole which has been left open since day one. It's always good to purchase the hardware though if you're on the Fiberhome.. a Console/rollover cable costs RM10-30+ (free if you have friends who work with hardware routers ) and a usb-rs232 adapter is also roughly the same price.

I think i would like to go for the RB750G instead of RB250GS since according to wcewong it offer better NAT / Security / Firewall by using RouterOS. and also the fact that we still have no idea how to complete the bulk purchase of RB250GS from Singapore. Do you think it is a good alternative (if cost is not taken as a factor) to replace DIR-615 or you still think it is better to go for RB250GS ? Seeing how TM is treating us on the security front, i am really concerned and would really like to secure my network the best i can. Will you be writing any guide to configure the RB750G ? I am planning to get it from Landasan tomorrow but worry on how to set it up to replace the DIR-615 and how to configure the SNAT / Firewall to secure my network to the best extend it allow. Thanks in advance for your advice and help.

Seems typical of TM incompetency. Unable to solve VOIP problem more than 2 days after report made. Followed this thread and the instructions given and recovered the VOIP in less than an hour. Downloads still corrupted though. RAR files all have CRC errors.

So far I don't have any problems with corrupted downloads yet. I'm on ZTE VDSL box with DIR 615 as router. VOIP and Internet also working fine but noticed the service degrading during late night (around 10pm). Online game lags a bit and certain sites are slow to access/download.

Thanks in advance for your advice and help. Correct me if I'm wrong, I think the issue now is on the BTU itself and not the router. Internet & network should be fine subject to the router's firewall, since the router's WAN port is connected to BTU's LAN, there is still a layer of firewall+NAT. I think the pressing matter now how to find way to secure that Huawei BTU especially on the VOIP vulnerability, hope Riz or other Huawei sifu can help out here ... Unless we can find something to replace that GPON, otherwise we are merely at TM's mercy .... This post has been edited by klseet: Sep 7 2010, 08:50 AM
