I've been following this topic for a while now (ever since I had UniFi VIP5 installed about 3 weeks ago). First time poster here, so, hello guys!

I had the unfortunate experience of having the DIR-615 konked out on me on the 2nd night after installation. Spent couple hours on call with the 'technical guy', who kept asking me to ping a dead router, even when I told them the network wasn't connected. I even heard his colleague (talking at the back) suggested that my network card was at fault! But I played nice and took the ride and eventually he agreed that the router was faulty and will logged a report. That was around 5am. To my surprise, they called up and had it replaced by the next noon. I guess being nice paid off for once, so I'm not gonna talk about the so called technicians that brought the replacement router wink.gif

The replacement unit's been working okay so far. But it's something that I wish not to experience again. So, I'm putting my name on this list in hoping that it will add some weight that will encourage the bulk purchase. Unless, the gurus here can find another alternative in getting rid of that DIR-615!

1. azri
2. PGGTrader
3. ldragon
4. Alex
5. Joe C (chungss)

I got grade D for one of my test and best of Grade B. i even got ping about 100 for one of them then next test ping is 11. wat is going on. i restart my router just to make sure its working its best.

One of my test packet loss is 2%, jitter 26 ping 18

FFFFFFFUUUUUU i've been talking to rizvan about this for a while now. In fact I'll be getting my hands on an embedded system to try to get rid of the DIR615. Now waiting for my benefactor (read as sugar mommy) to come through for me. tongue.gif

Did that a month+ ago la tongue.gif

Just install the vlan kernel modules (8021q), vconfig and brctl app and you're good to go. It will need about 3 NICs onboard.. then all you have to do is setup an eth0.500 and eth0.600 interface on the NIC that's connected to the BTU. Then bridge eth0.600 using brctl to eth1 or eth2 but make sure that you set the egress/ingress priority to like 7 or the IPTV stream will break/stutter when you download stuff from the net.

Setup IP forwarding + NAT using iptables to share the connection. I also have a sample /etc/ppp/peers provider configuration file for Unifi if you want it. The file will set eth0.500 as the PPPoE interface to dial through.

I stopped using the method because using a core 2 quad as a home router is pretty much overkill and consumes a lot of power.

Mine ok, last time I connect direct via wifi to the dlink. Nothing special, used the standard WPA2 security and disabled SSID broadcast. Played few times, downloaded updates... so far ok - but I'm not heavy gamer most of the times only play like 1 hour per day.

That's before my dlink got 'fried' tho. Now I'm on the third dlink (since Monday) and have moved to the bridge setup. My wLAN clients all connect through buffalo WHR-HP-300GN router (Buffalo ddwrt flashed). So far so good, in fact last night played TW Golf for an hour nothing unusual - I can load patch, check online stuff, etc.

I spoken to Solitan boss in SG this morning, to qualify bulk discount, minimum value [any MikroTik product] is USD3k, or about 76 units of RB250GS.
More info as follows:

Without bulk, export out of SG unit price is USD39.90 approx SGD55
With bulk, export out of SG unit price is USD36.5 approx SGD50

Shipping cost to KL:
Approx SGD25 if only deliver 1 unit
They've calculated the optimum size is 20 units in a box which will cost around SGD60~80 approx SGD3~4 per unit

If you go SG and COD there, the price is SGD58.99 with VAT per unit.

I'm not sure whether you guys can hit 76 units or not sweat.gif , it seem like per order of 20 units seem to be best price. nod.gif

Now, the problem is, if it reaches KL and kenal custom, how ? Anyone can "help" on this? icon_question.gif
