QUOTE(dannychen @ Aug 11 2010, 08:42 PM) may be your area coming up next, so you may get the service very soon. I called their customer service and they say "no planning" yet and their contractors are busy deploying the "black and yellow cables". it seems that the company laying the infrastructure is not communicating properly with TM...like my place...its supposed to be 2011....but the fibre and fiber cabinets are already in place...just missing the white box...This post has been edited by brian12988: Aug 11 2010, 09:27 PM |

QUOTE(farkinid @ Aug 26 2010, 09:20 AM) FFFFFFFUUUUUU i've been talking to rizvan about this for a while now. In fact I'll be getting my hands on an embedded system to try to get rid of the DIR615. Now waiting for my benefactor (read as sugar mommy) to come through for me. hahahhaQUOTE(rizvanrp @ Aug 26 2010, 10:28 AM) Did that a month+ ago la i got a Atom box sitting at home..running clearOS on it....waiting for unifi to come before i change the board to one that has PCIE and add 2 LAN cards to it.... Just install the vlan kernel modules (8021q), vconfig and brctl app and you're good to go. It will need about 3 NICs onboard.. then all you have to do is setup an eth0.500 and eth0.600 interface on the NIC that's connected to the BTU. Then bridge eth0.600 using brctl to eth1 or eth2 but make sure that you set the egress/ingress priority to like 7 or the IPTV stream will break/stutter when you download stuff from the net. Setup IP forwarding + NAT using iptables to share the connection. I also have a sample /etc/ppp/peers provider configuration file for Unifi if you want it. The file will set eth0.500 as the PPPoE interface to dial through. I stopped using the method because using a core 2 quad as a home router is pretty much overkill and consumes a lot of power. |

QUOTE(rosdi.ahmad @ Sep 2 2010, 12:45 AM) hi, can i setup another wireless point upstair as the existing wireless router (comes with package) is not strong enough for the signal. very weak signal eventhough on the same floor. i have the previous Planet WRT-414 wireless router that i use with streamyx last time. any chance? thanks. QUOTE(nokia2003 @ Sep 2 2010, 02:34 AM) can I reconfirm that, we must use telekom's wireless router in order to subscribe to unifi? if u check back, everyone has been mentioning about this for some time...my house's design is weird in a way that only linksys can project the signal to my room. I have tried d-link, netgear and belkin and they definitely can't offer me linksys' coverage and range. thanks guys. it is not necessary to use back TM wireless router as long as ur wireless router can support VLAN tagging... if you are not sure if your hardware supports VLAN tagging and insist on using ur own hardware, u can use the wireless router that TM gave as a VLAN bridge instead...please refer back to the unifi athena website for the instructions.. |

Then, got e-mail from TM saying my area will be covered Q4 2011. Now, got SMS from TM saying my area not in Unifi deployment plan. ![]() |
