My router got fried only after 2 days of use. Brilliant isn't it?

Sometimes my DIR-615 TM router disconnects the internet connection(lights remain green, but comp says no internet connection) after being idle and I have to pull out the power cable and insert it back to restart it to make it work again. Anyone experiencing this problem?

Ya... Me too, been using it since June almost 24x7, rebooted it less than 5 times, so far so good...

just now technician come to my house...turn out, my router is broke already...thats why cannot connect to internet...so they change new one...not even a week spoilt already....why la D-Link?

i already put one dedicated notepad cooler to cool down the DIR-65 and Huawei Gateway, hopefully it won't get fried that fast

maybe could try set the wifi transmitting power to 50%? see any difference?

The IPTV has its own dedicated bandwidth.

Finally, my VIP5 installed already !! 

A team of 7 [TM+contractor] started at 10:30am, by 3:30pm already can surf, from registration to installation all done within a week, to be honest, I'm quite surprise, good job TM-UniFi team !!

I'm using my current Buffalo WHR-G300N [dd-wrt] so no need to change any settings on LAN.

So far everything seem to be ok for the past 24 hours, internet download/upload, IPTV & phone all running ok no disconnection issue.
The uTorrent speed is definitely improved:

I'm also surprised with the IPTV, it has few HD channels, those SD channels picture quality seem to be better than Byond!
I don't know how to change the aspect ratio, it seem to set at 4:3 and cannnot be changed, does anyone knows how to change it?

Other than that no complaint yet, only thing now still no idea how to replace that DIR-615 completely, really hope it don't burn .... 

whats the main reason that will lead to router being fried? My router had been on since installation till now.
I want to find out the possibilities that will fry the router, seriously nobody want to be out of Internet

I don't really think the failure rate for DIR-615's can be as high as you guys say it is. There was even another thread here about how to get your ipod/itouch/ipad working with the DIR-615 wifi and Unifi support claimed his router was faulty/spoilt because they didn't know what was causing it. Some of you here have said the orange light keeps blinking, this means your DIR-615 may have entered emergency room mode by mistake. Normally when the router is physically damaged, there will be no lights on it. Having orange lights blinking/constant reboots indicates a software problem that could be fixed by a re-flash in Emergency Room mode.

Truth be told, the DIR-615 G1 is a decent router using a standard router chipset + hardware. The only thing causing many of these bugs is the firmware that TM has placed in it. I've been torrenting for 3 days straight after flashing my DIR-615 G1 to dd-wrt and its been really stable. Since it has a 384Mhz proc + 32MB RAM (which is way better than some of your linksys 54g models), it can easily handle 10,000+ connections with a custom conntrack table size.

Perhaps the new batches, I'm using one from early April myself. I'm just saying there's no way to tell if its a hardware/firmware error unless you hook up a serial cable to its board and look at the boot process. What I do know however is that when it comes to routing/NAT stability, our routers have equal performance due to the firmware they've loaded into it. If you guys have this problem again (perma blue light or all orange) you should try and see if its possible to boot into the Emergency Room as you might be able to reflash it to get it to work again. The DIR-615 is actually pretty hard to brick during a re-flash because of this feature.

Well I cannot really stand the ping time the streamyx offer. It is really pathetic. Hopefully Unifi is a lot better.

Describe "Bad thing" you experience in the router. I hope u dont mean the "bad" router adding significant ping time, as i do not see this often happen.

The ping time I mentioning here is oversea.
