im the third person to post in this new thread even though i dont have WC setup.....yet....
 want to ask sumting i want to buy this item for my setup 1) swiftech apogee xt 2) swiftech mcr 220 3) ek 4.0 pump 4) ek multioption 250 res 5) Bitspower 1/2" 3/4" compression x 1 pair(silver shiny) 6) Bitspower 1/2" Silver Shiny barbs x 4 pairs (silver shiny) izit good enough to cope with 4Ghz OC?? @metsatsu nice setup bro...  how much it cost for WC only?? mcr220 can handle 4GHz OC, i tried it. but you need a couple of good fan, pull setup and cpu only loop.
mine loads at 63-64º C for i7 930 @ 4.0GHz |

Black Ice is never a popular radiator
For the price you're paying, might as well you get something better (or settle for something cheap and good) but don't settle for something that most people doesn't want. It's like buying a radiator from the Factory Outlet Store, lol.Nevertheless, it's the buyer's choice to decide but obviously, it's a bad buy |

nothing could go wrong man .
black ice is never famous in malaysia and not for silent operation imho . but heck, we're not talking about Delta kind of noise level . any good static pressure 2k RPM fan would do a good job on the gts . get the yate loon fans if u want . its a bit noisy but performance wise, very lovely . else if u have the money, get the gentle typhoon for superior performance with silent operation . |

i think can be used but not advisable .
since its specifically mentioned CAR coolant . its because the chemical used might make the liquid thicker hence wont work so good in PC WC . heavy liquid would probably leads to lower flowrate and stuffs . stick with distilled water or battery water . distilled is only around RM6 for 5.5litres . cheap dude |

Distlled water + colored tubings the best.
If want other fluid, go for expensive coolants meant for PC Liquid cooling lo. Dont go for Car Coolants. Ethylene Glycol is to prevent corrosion, and all coolants got that, except that PC Coolants at lesser amount. Distilled water is not really the best, imagine if you stay in Siberia, you need fluid with anti freeze on ur cooling, else you will have freezing problem. But in malaysia, biocide + distlled the best. *Note, if setting up mixed metal loop, better use coolant to prevent corrosion. eg. anybody know a good reservoir that can fit in the rv02? my reservoir is hanging by a single screw and 2 cable ties only

Juz to find out more which is more prefered among wc modders here when comes to these two chassis, Obsidian 800D or TJ-07, both r greate for wc modding.

Chassis weight would not be part of my concern since I don't move or carry the chassis ard occasionally.
But the gd thing abt alluminium compare to steel would be better shielding againts electronic interference.  Out topic, sorry.If weight is Ur priority concern, many Lian Li cases r great too. im actually thinking of getting MIPS block for R3E but will see how's d money 1st . probably gotta wait another 5 months . hehe anyway, i might need to migrate to green camp cause my bloody final year project is doing routing algorithm using CUDA tech . maybe grabbing palit GTX465 for the project and the reason for palit GTX465 is that its dual fan design really caught my eyes ! lose the adapter and use comp fitting la . try not to lose any performance by those small2 matter . anyway, nice temp u got there . should be no problem though . oh and maybe a bit more on cable management + WC management . its a bit untidy at this stage . |

if you want to work on this case, definately need to mount the rad outside. if done the right way, it can still look good.

btw...need to ask everybody a question. What's a nice, quiet fan to use with the ek 240 rad? Performance is NOT the main factor but i wouldn't want to be able to fry an egg in my pc. So please recommend something which will allow me to be able to sleep at night with the pc on. Something that doesn't sound like a vacuum cleaner. No oc'ing, no benchmarking, moderate cpu usage.

only use a pair of comp fitting on my cpu water block... else use normal fittings only... will try jump start my psu to run a leak test... scared to power up my system lol... |

You can start your PSU without using the motherboard - you just have to short 2 pins on the 24-pin ATX connector, just google and you'll find how.only use a pair of comp fitting on my cpu water block... else use normal fittings only... will try jump start my psu to run a leak test... scared to power up my system lol... 2. If you have an AC to DC inverter, you can use that too and it costs RM60 only. That way you do not have to be afraid even if there are leaks If indeed there is, just turn off the power, fix it and make sure everything is dry before turning it on. |

but u r using small res right? it take longer time to bleed.. so just be passion run for 1 hour..then stop.. look if got a leak..some time leak dont happen when system is running.. just to share my experience.. |

Leave it opened due to U might fill up the reservoir after system has got bleeded. Air escaped and will eventually lower the water level.

u can open the cap and tilt ur casing... it wont spill, i did lot of time, make sure u hold the reservoir well, if u designed ur loop to be able to remove reservoir to some certain extend...

the fin here is the zig zag metal on the radiator... higher FPI doesnt directly relate to higher performance... the heat dissipation of a radiator, much depends on fan used couple with the radiator... lower FPI (like the ekwb) usually means (not applicable to all radiator) the radiator work nicer with mid/low fan and higher FPI (like the mighty HWlabs GTX and GTS) will need higher rpm fan to really show the FPI power... and higher rpm fan means higher the noise generation... can 3 unit CM 90CFM 12cm fans share together with one 12v molex? meaning 1 molex cable got 3 unit of 3 pin connector to 3 unit 90CFM fans.. |

I've only stalked this thread about a year ago, fantasizing about building a WC setup... then, when I finally decided to do it... got so hooked into and forgotten about this little place.

Q9450's are pretty hard to get 4ghz.. taking from my experience.. mine was a Q9400, its lil sister..
highest i could get was 3.6ghz stable on a UD3P.. temps were incredibly low (below 60C) with my TRUE.. went for 3.8ghz but the multiplier was limiting me |

stuck on windows boot most probably not enough vNB or vCORE i think .
try pump more . with WC shouldnt be much problem pumping voltage . just monitor ur NB scared its too hot |

after few weeks running a wc pc..
i realize my res water level drop 3-4cm i have check there is no leak is this normal?..ist some sort of water hydrations? coz we boiling water in there i was thinking that maybe all the air is finally settling out, therefore the tubing has more water in it which would make the reservoir drop some |

DzX.. you got that right. water level will decrease alot in the first few weeks. cos got very very small micro bubbles in the loop still... but over time, the water level will still decrease albeit slower.

Too all Taiko.. I'm a newbie in WC setup.
This is what I come up with after weeks of research 1. EK-FC5870 Nickel 2. TFC Xchanger - Quad Radiator 480 3. DD / Laing, D-5 12 Volt Pump with mounting bracket - with variable speed control 4. EK-Multioption reservoir 150 I haven't decide on which waterblock yet. Thinking of choosing EK but since Clawhammer posted all that links about how EK is not a very good product, maybe I will choose HEATKILLER revision 3.0 for socket 1366. I'm having trouble deciding the casing for this setup. Planned on using HAF932 but then surely have to change the RAD, right? Thanks in advance.. |

Thanks in advance.. . i can tell u most of us here is using motherboard wb and vga wb from EK. like the R2E, R3E, 5870, 5970 V2 etc and hardly heard them complaint. if its not a very good product then why ppl still buy EK and still be one of the best selling wc product for case that fit nicely with quad rad maybe can go for 800D or TJ07. if HAF 932 then u might have to change to 360mm rad. if u r planing to wc cpu and gpu i think feser 360 rad is enough already because 5870 thermal power design (TDP) is not as high Nvidia highend gc, so it run much more cooler.. but if u got extra $$ its no prob to chose feser 480 rad coz u can get more headroom in oc & cooling.. for casing only TJ07 can fit 480 rad nicely at bottom without much mooding..if haf 932 myb mount it outside?... btw im EK WB user,in my experience yes there got some minor issue but its not the WB its good product,i satisfied with their made and perfomance u cant go wrong if u r choosing EK WB EK Supreme-HF Full nickel FTW!! |

Anyway, forgot to add another part in my WC setup. The Mobo block but that's solely because I have less idea on which one to use.

No budget for powdercoat huhu. Just Rm5.50 flat black spray paint. Took me 1 week plus to finish painting job, not under sunlight at all haha. |

i think there no such prob..

ok will try it after i get my radiator n holder...

simple doesn't mean not nice for me i more like to see a simple setup than a high end hw,but all cacing in side the case u using tj's,feser 480 ,nb fan some more im only using cm r4 huhu btw can teach me how to make the mid-plate using the acrylic or make one for me |

myb rm400-500+..coz it more expensive then feser 480 and AFAIK feser has stop producing all their xchanger rad.. and their making new rad now..xchanger 2 myb hehe |

Extreme oc should use water chiller. Easy n nice but pricey.
