I've only stalked this thread about a year ago, fantasizing about building a WC setup... then, when I finally decided to do it... got so hooked into and forgotten about this little place.

Someone reminded me of this place and it's funny to see some interesting post and trends sprouting biggrin.gif

Anyways, after a lot of wasted tubings, leaks and blistered fingers... I present to you my 'Mistress'

user posted image

I've got a couple more shots, but camera with missus... wait la ha... ok tongue.gif

OK.. since i'm so free and not working today, I've got some time to spam something here.
Here's some 'learning-in-progress' setups that I've been thru... hopefully, this will give some heads up to beginners (i am one still ok !!!)

Here's #1:
Before this, I was using CM Aquagate... well, nothing bad about it for me. It looks nice and performance is acceptable. But but but but... i've got no space to hook everything up as I need to sacrifice either some drive bay space and etc... anyways, long story short, I then switched to custom kits... and got poisoned very badly.

Here's what I first came up with...

The rest will have to wait till I get my pictures... and yes, in the midst of all this, I was poisoned by sleeving as well... don't ask ok! Thanks to someone here.

Until then, sorry to make u guys read this loong grand mother story...

Not necessary to have a great camera.... this is shot only with a G11 wink.gif

The most important thing is to have passion in what we do. You can give a RM5k camera to someone that doesn't enjoy photography, also = crap biggrin.gif

couldn't agree more... lighting plus a proper setup is more important than a super duper camera... that's my personal opinion...
OK, enough about photography... trolling this thread already tongue.gif

hii, im new here and this is my 1st time trying wc,

please teach me

here my wc- gigabyte 3d galaxy (bought second hand cheap), casing also cheapo one- cm elite 430

rig - phenomx4 9550 2.2ghz
idle temp - 34 celcius
after 24 hour stress test maximum temp 41celcius  thumbup.gif
problem i see here -
tube behind too long, will cut later
water in tube not full, got air space. dont know how to make it completely fill tube  rclxub.gif
rad need put at top because if put behind, graphic slot got covered, cant close side panel
uv and other bling2 wil buy later
*
Bro... for your tubing not being to be completely full, here's a tip that I use.
Very basic is to understand the physics of air/ water/ gravity, this is especially helpful when you wanted to drain your tubes in the future.

So, from the looks of it, if you can try to mount your reservoir higher, you will be able to fill up the tubes... what's happening now (I THINK) is because your radiator too very high up vs. your reservoir and inlet is coming from top. To see if my theory make sense, try tilting you casing sideways and see how the tube fills up itself...

As for your rad, you can mount it outside of your exhaust fan and check how much temp is affected... I expect not too much, and will make your overall loop much cleaner.

just my two cents tongue.gif

LED or cold cathodes? If LED, where did u put em? Need to drill holes?  hmm.gif
Very curious. I wonder what my rig would like with red + white rolleyes.gif
*
I found those SMD LED strips here in the forum (seller = chtan82), and mounting = heavy duty double tapes, and it'll all be fine...
Very easy to work with if you don't mind the soldering work.

Although it's concealed, I suggest that you sleeve them wires, otherwise, will mess up your rig smile.gif

@owikh,

Maybe ur dual rad reach thermal equilibrium. higher temp maybe is the thermal resistance or ur waterblock mountings. U can try remount ur block to check the temp again.

Cooling is about area, i think might be waterblocks reaching maximum heat transfer capability ady. although ur rad can carry huge amount of heat away, but the block arent transfer the heat to water fast enough  laugh.gif
*
owikh.. what he said, i was about to say the same. equilibrium reached.

Same thing happened with my rig, i used to have 1x240mm... then 2x240mm... then I switched to 1x240mm + 1x120mm.. all yielding same result via the same block.

I think a lot of ppl gave u good suggestions already smile.gif

But yeah, it looks like ur 8pin is a bit short. get extender or if u like a challenge and make things look nicer, extender the wires yourself and sleeve the PSU.. and then route them like how everyone suggested... FTW!!! memang chun after that...

Cooler Master Aquagate Max (RM700+) price almost near to custom wc.. just add bout rm200+ and u will get very go custom wc..
*
AHah...i know I might kena tembak kaw kaw after this.. but here's my opinion, from an ex-Aquagate Max user.

Performance wise of course our custom kits are better, but to be frank I'm noticing very slight improvements on my single CPU loop, which my vcore is @ 1.45 (on a very old E7600 tongue.gif tongue.gif). Again this is very subjective as by MY definitition of slight improvements = 3c - 5c. In an Aircond room, probably around 5c - 6c lower temps. I dun have my bench test anymore, but it's somewhere like idle 36 - 39/ load 69 - 72c on ambient temp of 35 - 38c. Sabah damn hot ok!!!. So now, i'm like idle 34c/ load 66c. Hmmm... maybe something wrong but I dunno la.. feel free to comment.

I bought the kit early this year @ about RM550, and I will say I am quite OK with it... BUT the only reason I'm not satisfied with it is how it looks overall, because I'm a visual whore you see smile.gif and also because the components it comes with are not really space friendly.

So, my summary is (comparing Aquagate vs Custom)
1. Default components (res, pump and rad) doesn't provide flexibility and takes up a lot of space.
2. Tubing not so nice, quality is questionable
3. Fittings are plastic tongue.gif

Yeah... so.... if you ONLY have RM550 - 600 to spare, and doesn't care how your rig will end up looking (or if u really like the Aquagate look) you can go for it.
