His Driver is really old. But, that's from DELL themselves.
You can try to remove your old Driver completely(check how to do it entirely clean, thanks). "Dirty" Driver installation or uninstallation can lead to big problem later.
After that, only install the Driver you downloaded. Currently, CCC 10.7 is the latest WHQL(Official) Driver.

it is reportedly that the price of 5850 is draining to RM890 by the month end, and reduce up to Rm 810 come November.

How true? god knows.

Southern Island (dub HD 6000) is pretty much a minor upgrade since it will be build on the same still 40nm die. But Northern Island is a whole different category altogether.

Im just hoping Southern Island isn't just a rebrand piece of cake.

Does it mean the HD5000 can crossfire with HD6000 series since both of them are using the same 40nm? If it is true then I can wait the 6000 series to crossfire my 5870. brows.gif

LOL. True and YEA.
But, I think that it's worthless to that either because the new's can be very expensive. hmm.gif hmm.gif
And sometime, their performance also not far from the older GPUs.

crossfiring that even if its possible is just a waste of money due to the performance being 2 Hd5870.

exactly....& i dun think it is even possible.
yes, it uses the same 40nm process, but the architecture is somewhat different.

Who knows.. it is still possible that one HD6000 cross with HD5000 is better than crossing both 5870, I'm sure there is some difference, but maybe it's not that significant. And furthermore we still don't know other feature such as power consumption and cooling in HD6000, up till now the news we know is that there will be a little bit of performance gain compare btw HD5000 and HD6000. But I'm sure ATI will figure something else. brows.gif

In price wise, HD6000 will cost around the same price as when 5000 series first released back in September 2009. As you all know that ATI will not even dare to push up the cost as one of their major success is their price as well. (That's my guess though).

I have been wondering, why ATI has to make a new series instead of further naming as the 5000 series since it is the same size chipset and there isn't much performance difference between 5000 and 6000. So I'm sure ATI will have some "secrets" haven't revealed yet for 6000 series. brows.gif

So lets hope we heard good news in October.

all ati need is just a little performance boot to tek the single GPU throne bck.

actually even if ati would hav save the performance gain for 7k series & just work on making it cooler, quieter & less power draw, it would actually do fine.

i wouldnt bet on it.
Even tho using still 40nm, HD5000 series cant even crossfire between all their families.
They can only crossfire between 58XX, 57XX
