QUOTE(JoBigShow @ Aug 11 2010, 03:33 PM) Nvidia 3D Vision Discovery is freakin' awesome! Which game you're playing? Some games the 3D effects are washed up and makes dizzy only. As said earlier, if you want can download the iZ3D version of 3D. Additionally, the 3D-DLP Driver is available free to customers using an ATI Radeon Graphics Cards.http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-discover-main.html I "test drive" it for 10 minute 3 days ago at KL Convention Centre (PC Fair), set the 3D stereoscopic to the max settings (15% I think) and the depth of field is very articulate. Yeah, ATi should have something like this in their arsenal but I don't believe they will anytime soon, because ATi doesn't have that much of a wide variety of technology other than graphic cards, and Eyefinity (which Nvidia have their own alternate version... IN 3D !!!!).. Havok is considered an unfinished project, so I will not include it.. Nvidia although a bit late with their newer line of cards (GTX 4xx), they ventured into other stuff like Physics engine (Phsyx), 3D vision (games, movies, pictures), multi-display 3D gaming, CUDA, industrial graphic cards, PS3, etc. etc. Plus AMD is pre-occupied with their own technologies like their processors hence limit the growth with their ATi. And the fact when compared ATi with Nvidia, Nvidia is the bigger company thus have the resource and expenditure in their field of technology. |

Additionally, the 3D-DLP Driver is available free to customers using an ATI Radeon Graphics Cards. I was mostly demos from all the kinds of games from FPS to strategy...(and DOTA It wasn't that washed up at all though, but in 3D the image is clear and articulate that the graphics looks like a bunch of cardboard with different depth of field. It's like watching South Park in 3D... But FOR SURE that's just the games, I played some unknown FPS game (looks like the old Doom 3), most probably the rendering is not as dynamic enough like other nice graphics games for instance, Call of Duty, BattleField, Metro 2033, etc. So I bet the better graphic looking games will look refined in 3D...............I hope... iZ3D ?! Do you need to use the cyan/red glasses OR the active 3D active shutter glasses ? Plus, what about the monitors? Can a normal 60fr/s LCD monitor be used OR need to get the 120 hertz monitor? I have an AOC 24" HD 1920x1080, can it be used? |

QUOTE(JoBigShow @ Aug 12 2010, 01:05 AM) If Sapphire 5750 Vapor-X is within your budget, might as well get the normal cooler Sapphire 5770, only about RM50 more expensive. due to low budget.. i cannot simply buy so exp graphic card. = = somemore my casing is a medium size casing.. dunno weather can fit or not.If you are able to go to Low Yat Plaza due to where you live, PC-Zone is selling Powercolor 5770 PCS+ for RM555 (as from 10/8/2010), that only RM5 more than the normal cooler Sapphire 5770 (RM550). PCS+ is the equivalent to Vapor-X in terms of these "special cooler"sort of to speak...or properly spoken: 'non-reference retail coolers'... The 5750 'Vapor-X' version is a bit gimmicky because for low-mid end cards, such cooler is unnecessary since the 5750 is a cool card even with the reference cooler (the stock normal cooler) So you either get the normal 5750, OR save a bit and get to be very happy to own a 5770. Alternately, you can find 2nd hand 5770 at Garage Sales... |

The way I see it, you are better off with the 48XX series since it suits your criteria of: Using Windows XP and under certain budget. The truth is, you do not need DX11 at the moment, at least DX10 will do that is if you decide to upgrade OS later. The 4850, new, (if you can find at all the shop in Low Yat Plaza) sells it for around RM350. Actually Thunder Match (one I went to is at the top floor in LYP) are clearing there Sapphire 4850s and XFX 4850s, both at the price of RM345 Check here for pricelist of the ThunderMAtch: http://www.hardwarezone.com.my/priceguide/ The performance of the 4850 is between the 5750 and the 5770. And do consider Garage Sales: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showforu...cs+Card+-+PCI-E |

Btw anyone having experience in Eye Infinity cards? current having issue with a client's pc. First everything is working fine (running 3x5770 with eye infinity enable) Using it with MSI 790FX-GD70. first 2 days everything was working fine, the next thing we know it won't display 3 display on the first slow. Thinking this was a board issue (as first slot not working ONLY) we had the board swap for a new 1. Now it's even worse with all 3 cards refusing to display 3 outputs and shows "unable to save setting" on windows 7's display option there and need to disable 1 of the display when using CCC. CCC used=10.7

Southern Islands reportedly coming in November
QUOTE First announcements expected in October According to Digitimes, AMD will announce the first products in its upcoming Southern Islands GPU series sometime in October. Shipments and retail availability are expected in November. In addition, the red team will reportedly cut prices on select HD 5000 series cards to make way for new products. So far AMD has been less than keen to cut HD 5000 prices, as it’s still not facing much opposition from Nvidia. This is in line with previous reports and roadmap leaks which indicated that AMD would indeed launch several new GPU’s before year’s end. However, it appears that this time around AMD will introduce entry level and mainstream parts first, while high end products should appear in early 2011. It's still a bit too early to know the details, so take this with a grain of salt. Although the news comes as no surprise, it is nice to see AMD sticking to its schedules. Nvidia is also expected to introduce new GF106 and GF108 products over the next few weeks, but they will obviously face stiff opposition from upcoming AMD parts just a couple of months (or weeks) after they hit retail. http://www.fudzilla.com/graphics/graphics/...ing-in-november This post has been edited by tech3910: Aug 13 2010, 12:23 AM |
