my sis told me she's having this error while playing/after playing sim games. ati 5850.

vpu recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands. please tell ati technologies about this problem.

weird as i didnt face this probs when playing ra3.

another side probs, slow loading when opening software like words etc etc. but once open everything fast.

The card is going to die Maybe can try other methods.

Update your drivers. To update, you should uninstall them first.

Overheating: Overheating of the GPU itself and the RAMs on the GPU can cause the GPU to stop responding. To see if this is the problem, monitor your GPU and RAM temperature with GPU-Z.

PSU (power supply) failing to provide enough power for GPU.

wah really pandai u....yess i'm using HDMI cable.... & but it keeps reverting to small screen after my game load...
so never has a chance 2 try CCC10.8 & 10.9..
even at 0% underscan still the same...

nah. not going to die. new card. new cpu.
and only happen on sims 3. no problems with other games like ra3.
suspect the avg antivirus give probs as what google result shown.

DVI also same problem? For now, I am using V10.9. Been using from earlier version like V10.2 etc. No problem in full screen on my 24" LCD after loading games.

For HDMI, i have heard a lot about it. I got the cable few mths back but never try it yet. hehe

i see, meaning the game coding crash with the new ati driver.

On V10.8, when i watch youtube, the gpu clock auto rise. I understand if on the Videolan with GPU acceleration. After install V10.9, haven't test youtube yet. Is it suppose to work like that? 

me also start using at 10.2 and ok,now start 10.8 and 10.9 its happen..btw,its not happen if i play high demanding game liks Split Second/Just Cause 2..only on ''Buried in Times'' or other games from bigfishgames caused this..hehe..

not the small screen problem but the GPU scaling problem..

huhuhuhu yyup scaling problem....fullscreen at 0%..but sumtimes even on 0% its not full screen
have to move the slider up and down then can get fullscreen..

It's not overkill IMO, just that it can play smoother than other ATI cards, that's all. 2560*1440 and 2560*1600 are obviously two of the resolutions that I would like to avoid if I'm not on Crossfire and that is of course only HD5870 crossfire. Those resolution will make my stock clock single HD5870 perform like some mid end card in Full HD reso. Not worth it.

1920*1200 should be ok, but I don't see the point changing from 16:9 to 16:10. Just my 2 cents.

Flash Hardware Acceleration.. That's why Adobe came out with Flash Player 10.1 to support hardware acceleration..

Still faster than 5000 series

We have heard from several sources that the next generation Radeon HD 6000 series also known as codename Northern Islands are about to launch in late October time.

This means that this time ATI plans to launch in Q4 2010 which is closer to actually shipping time. Last year AMD launched Radeon HD 5000 series in last days of Q3 2009 but it started shipping in Q4 2009. 

All the reports indicate that the new generation is actually a tweaked up design of Radeon HD 5000 and as far as we know, ATI didn’t dramatically improved its tessellation performance. As you probably know by now tessellation is the only big advantage that Nvidia has over DirectX 11 Radeons. The whole generation is naturally faster than the Radeon HD 5000.

The main press event is supposed to take place in glorious Los Angeles in week 43, that starts October 18th, but this is something that we still have to confirm.
