with 28nm still got power usage prob?

Yeah, from what I saw they claimed that they are still having heavy power usage on each chipset per watt. They are still looking into it at the moment, and it is still long time until Nvidia release new card. So everything is still mystery, but definitely next gen for Nvidia is 28nm chipset.

But this does not mean 6000 will lose for sure. We still dont know what secret behind AMD is kept for 6000 features until October. As we know that 6000 series will succeed 5000 series. So temperature, power usage will be nice to user. It is just a matter of time when Nvidia release 28nm, 6000 series price will drop like madness and who knows, maybe that time is nearly the 7000 series to fight back.

I think the reason for AMD to produce 6000 series to keep the market secure enough not to give any leak benefit to Nvidia at all. With having a good mid term graphic card for Nvidia (460), AMD wants to get the entire market for sure.

But, now, TwL said that the latest Driver have a bug.
So, wait for the fix, he said the newer driver will be uploaded soon after being tested.

Of coz old but still powerful..hehe..be 5870 or 5970,impossible to do big drop even HD6xxx released,still RM1k at least..
What i see,a lot of HD5870 reference model is phase out..

The 6 series isn't going to double performance unless they nearly double everything.

When is Nvidia's 28nm chips coming out? If it is sometime in the next six months, AMD will be in trouble. Unless the 6 series isn't a full fledge series and more of a stopgap one and they intend to bring out the 7 series also within the next six months instead of Q4 2011.

according to roadmap, nvidia 28nm GPU, codename Kepler will come @ H2 2011.
whether it will b announce @ H2 2011 or really available @ H2 2011, dats the different question.
also, there will b question whether there will b delay again.

if u look @ the picture of the nvidia roadmap, fermi stands @ 2009.
every1 knows that Fermi is announced on 2009 wit real availability on 2010.

6 series is rather not brand new performance improvement..its more like an architechture refresh. (EG : HD 4870 >HD4890)

this includes architechtural changes including tesselation..etc

but why 5870 phase out.. if midrange 6 series performance is on par..and can beat the pricing...

In fact when I heard the news that Nvidia Next Gen is 28nm, it alerts me not to purchase 6000 series at the moment. Especially i now have 5870. Which I have alternate way by either waiting 28nm card release or crossfire.
