The STAR article mentions that it aims for those earning between RM60,000/pa - RM120,000/pa. So i guess it starts from RM60,000/pa.

Means above 120k not qualify lah tongue.gif Then Citibank target what card to users above 120k ?

I like SCB rebate best cos given on the same month but only 0.5%. Alliance Bank rebate is higher but for someone like me who dont keep their statement record, I just lose count and feel at times the rebate is really low.
We really need a bank to introduce a credit card with unconditional 1% cash back on all purchases with absolute no cap tongue.gif

hmm, maybe i will get this for petrol only
for everything eles, there's JustOne and AMEX Gold biggrin.gif

My car is not a heavy drinker so rebate for petrol is not a main point to consider. Anyway, I may have to terminate my Alliance Visa Plat as I discover that its admin fee on forex conversion is not zero as promised, but also among the highest in the industry! My recent hotel payment was split into 2 concurrently, using Alliance Visa Plat and Amex Gold cc respectively. To my surprise, the currency conversion done by Alliance Visa Plat was 0.6% higher than Amex Gold cc!

HLB Visa Essential. But 1% cash back isn't a big thing to me. I forgo this card.

I reckon SCB JustOne, Amex Gold cc and Alliance Plat (if you spend RM5k per month) are still considered good in today's market.

wow, alliance plat higher than amex gold, no joke shocking.gif
personally, i noticed PBB is lower than SCB (never swipe my other card overseas - AMEX gold cc)

anything lest than 2% is not worth my consideration for now
but i hv to say pbb is catching up with this rebate thingy albeit some TnCs and on certain period only

But someone recently complained that the HLB VISA Essential it is not as simple as advertised. Something about the cash rebate he got was a lot less then what he spent.

That's why I said, forgo this card. HLB always has stringent T&Cs.

I do notice that PBB has been organising attractive cash back promotions since last year. Fortunately PBB keeps renewing the cash back campaign.

Frankly speaking ... I'm considering the new Citibank Plat Cash Back is due to the cool new design ... I'm kindof tired of the boring "Platinum" design theme that most banks use for their Plat cards.

I don't think Citibank's cash back is that bad. Alliance Bank's card is OK but I hated the tiered system and I always pray not needing to call CS as if I'm not mistaken the after office hours shift offers only basic support. Other banks Cash Back system are just to complicated to understand.

Plus they offer enough incentive to hook you up so technically there's minimum risk of you signing up. You don't like the card ... just walk away after a few months.

This new card is not bad at all, but not good enough. Citibank should be more generous when giving cash rebate to "other" spending. The 0.3% cash back is kind of a letdown.

Hence it is not worth to mention as it doesn't fit the "unconditional 1% cash back on all purchases with absolute no cap". There is still no such credit card in Malaysia.
