The information on this new Cash Back Platinum card is not available yet but it looks like the cash back structure is more or less the same as their existing cash back cards which do involve a carry forward balance if you want to get the highest tiered rebate. Otherwise, you'll get get the normal rebate.

Bad Points
- The cash rebate will be credited back into the Cardmembers’ account every month upon accumulation of RM50 equivalent amount in cash rebates. In the event that the cash rebate is less than RM50 for the particular month, the total cash rebate amount will be carried forward to the next month and will be taken into account in determining the Cardmember’s total cash rebate entitlement.

I was wrong ! This is so good. The rebate scheme is about the same as the Citibank Singapore dividend card. Too bad all other purchases only get 0.3% rebate sad.gif So basically, this card is good to use only in Malaysia as i am sure most other purchases most people made overseas are actually in the 0.3% rebate category.

I'm okay with this rule.

guys,

even this I ask over and over, I still dont get the concrete answer. biggrin.gif ...

I own a maybank petronas card (not ikhwan, just a convensional one) about a year plus and also have outstanding balance on it. Issue is, I dont understand how the charge been apply because I have check my maybank2u statement for 4-5 months, no service charge applied on those outstanding.

FYI, I always pay my card at least minimum payment before the due date. Is that the root cause? If that is the case, I would be happy with the current situation. So I dont need to balance transfer to avoid high % of service charge. biggrin.gif.

I hope someone could confirm this. biggrin.gif.

Outstanding balance is charged the interest of 1.5% per month ?
Service charge = Late charge fee ? If yes, you don't charge late fee because you pay the minimum payment amount (VERY BAD) before the due date

sorry for miscommunication in my post. btw, i am asking about the outstanding charge, where bank normally charges us 1.5% per month from the outstanding balance. in my case, the bank does not charge it.

Agree. This can replace DA, RHB travel money, all those MBB/CIMB Petronas etc,

It's a close call between Alliance, Amex Gold CC and this. Justone of course still very much ahead lol. The let down is the 0.3% for other purchases...

It doesn't really excite me much:
1) I presume no reward points will be given
2) 0.3% cash back for "other" spending is simply too little
3) For grocery and telecommunication bills, Amex Gold cc gives 5x points which is equivalent to 2.5% cash back vs Citibank 2.0% cash rebate

Nevertheless, the 5% rebate for petrol is deemed good!
