i asked about their fup policy regarding bandwidth quotas, and expected throttle speeds, and to reconfirm whether only international and not local speed, as well as download and not upload is counted toward the bandwidth quota.
They did not reply. They have FUP but they are not upfront about it. QUOTE Unifi VIP5 ---------------- Daily bandwidth cap: 2 gb ? Daily cap throttle speed: 250 kbps or 250 Kb/s ??? Monthly bandwidth cap: 60 gb Monthly cap throttle speed: ? Unifi VIP10 ---------------- Daily bandwidth cap: ? Daily cap throttle speed: ? Monthly bandwidth cap: 90 gb Monthly cap throttle speed: ? Unifi VIP20 ------------- Daily bandwidth cap: ? Daily cap throttle speed: ? Monthly bandwidth cap: 120 gb Monthly cap throttle speed: ? I know it's not yet enforced, but is it so much to ask for this info so we know whether to get the service or upgrade This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Jul 9 2010, 03:31 PM |

Any UniFi users here using homeplug to connect to their IPTV STB? How's the IPTV streaming performance?
I'm considering getting the Aztech HomePlug HL110E but it's kinda pricey. Another concern I have is I'd probably need to plug the homeplugs into extension sockets at both ends (due to lack of wall sockets) and to my understanding, such setup may or may not work well. Pulling a long CAT5 cable through the ceiling from the D-Link router may be the last resort. Thoughts/suggestions? |

Is it possible for TM to transfer your old landline number from copper to Voip so that we will not have to pay for the cost of 2 line if people like me wish to keep 1 line with the OLD number been used for many years and known by many people.

@ yoda
Thanks. Had to reset my FTTH unit, then the phone is ok again. Weird. Before reset, phone got dial tone, but call any number also engaged. Similarly when calling the phone line from another number. Anyways, not gonna figure out why if an occasional reset is required. Can't comment much on the IPTV as have not been using it lately especially since they announced gonna start charging for a lot of the channels. Uploads & downloads are fine on my end. Might be just a defective FTTH unit or router? Hope it is cause that'd be easy to fix. Just replace them. Anyways, hope your problem is resolved soon. |

I am very keen to find F&B outlet which provides unifi access to their customers. I found http://www.kopitiam23.com.my/ is giving free unifi.
Any other outlets ? Im sure in bangsar there is at least one cafe/restaurant giving free unifi. Anyone know any ? Please suggest. |

QUOTE(lamode @ Jul 10 2010, 09:27 PM) Guys, i have some question on the unifi. I have VIP5. I have done tests with different servers around the world. what is the actual speed that get from direct download from US/EU servers for Unifi VIP5? The answer is it depends. It's definitely possible to get almost the rated speed for some servers. |
