question here ( i tried to search for the same question but mostly are related to streaming )
i have installed HDD internally and updated with latest FW, hdd also formatted by playon.
when i plugged in to my pc via USB, it shows partition1 and has no folder in it? , partition size ~1.35TB after formatted. (i bought 1.5T)

1. is everyone the same no folder created for internal hdd?
2. i tried to created folder movie, photo, music, but the problem is the browser (music tab) also can seen the movie folder, photo folder.. wasn't that LP PL?
3. the browser says u have 50 movies, but the screen is only show say 5 or 6 movie at 1 time.. meaning u have to scroll down many many time?
4. one more question, after the latest fw udpated and while formatting the internal hdd, it shows what samba, BTPD unicgi failed.. does it really matter? but hdd is formatted successfully.

try firmware 2388 (best so far) or 2901. coz the later version is not stable.

i have tested all the firmware and seems that one one bug after another appear and sometimes another option missing or not working but in 2388 it works perfectly in my setup !

hi, i just bought a playonHD from PC fair, but having hard time to make it work with network.

The unit has already installed with firmware v7.0.6 r2901, and connected with 1TB HDD.

But when i select Torrents, it shows "BT client not running".

Goto Setup, it shows these settings

Wired Lan Setup: On: 192.168.1.3
Wireless Setup: Off: DHCP Not ready!
PPPoE Setup: Off: Can't get any IP
Host Name: PlayonHD
BitTorrent and SAMBA: Off

and I can't turn on BitTorrant and SAMBA, it always show off, even i have selected on before.

When I try to run the unit web server, by enter http://192.168.1.3/ in firefox browser.
The page showing

A simple html+cgi example

Enter first number
Enter second number

It's showing a cgi testing page shocking.gif
Is the firmware really ready for release or just beta test only??

I can't browser PlayonHD file from my PC, and I also can't view my PC share folder files from PlayonHD as well.

And I cant even copy a file from USB drive to PlayonHD, When I have selected the source and destination in File Copy, but no file copy when i press SELECT button. doh.gif

Hi soulquarianz , Is the firmware really working? Do I miss any step? Can show me how to copy file to PlayonHD? How to turn on BitTorrent and make BitTorrent work in the unit?

Why do you not follow instructions found in Manual how to copy file. Let you do some homework first. Go check out the manual and see if you can find out which button to press to get the copy screen to appear biggrin.gif

you have to install the additional pack. try browse thru few pages back i think boxbuilder have link for the BT and Samba pack.

IMHO, please dont use POHD for BT coz its not stable, sometimes movie not downloaded at all. also you might end up having junks in ur internal POHD that might corrupt the entire HDD.

most of us downloading using dedicated PC then transfer to internal HDD either using POHD via USB or remove the HDD plug it to Removeable HDD bay. once full we use another internal or external HDD again.

well this is my opinion tho. coz this is what i been doing or else i might end up losing 1.5TB of gems. my POHD is only for movie watching and picture viewing. even YOUTUBE, Mp3 and the Internet Radio i hardly use it.

It is not the POHD problem, it is srt problem. If your srt contains both language, it will appear on your TV. Normally, for both language subtitle, the format is .ass, seldom in srt format but still can be found in internet.
Cheers.

Thanks for the reply. I never suspect it is POHD problem, just want to know how to place these files in smile.gif
What I have tested yesterday was:

I have a movie called abc.mkv, so I placed 2 srt files abc.chs.srt & and.eng.srt which is same folder as abc.mkv. When I browse to that folder, I cann't see my abc.mkv anymore. Perhaps I done it wrongly, so advice is welcome smile.gif

So, is that means if I have the single .ass file which contains both languages & I am able to press the subtitle button to select different language? Is the filename must be changed to abc.ass?

Thanks in advance.

Pls use 3400, it is quite stable. For bugs free firmware, it is an impossible mission. Normally if that version firmware you are quite happy with it, it is your best firmware liao.
