FYI, the lens in the Blu-ray drive of the PS3 is a moving part.
It moves closer to the disc when heavy textures (or something else in relation like playing a cutscene while loading a level) are loaded off the disc.

That, can possibly scratch your disc if the lens moves out of alignment.
Although this issue is far, far less than it was ever was before on the PS2 days, it still happens.

Hence the reason why I said in the previous page or 2 to TAKE OUT your disc when you stop playing.
If you don't want... no problem, hope for the best but if anything goes wrong don't come crying when your disc fails to read the next time.
*
let's be logical. not ejecting your disc has not relation of lens being misaligned. its not like the disc will suddenly decide to kick the len out of alignment while its in your ps3. but one thing for sure, the more often u eject the disc the faster it wears. all mechanical components has wear and tear. but i agree lens misalignment can cause disc scratch, regardless whether u leave your disc in or not.

Guys, question here. Does all the PS3 games run in FullHD mode by default if i have a FullHD LCD TV? And how many hours of gaming usually does it take for a controller to go into battery low mode?

Nexus 4, 4 Nexers.

No. Most games run at 720p. The battery life of the controller is really long. Maybe like more than 15 hours straight usage.

Alright. Thanks alot for the info. Was feeling weird when i saw my Fifa World Cup switching to 720p. Thought it was a setting that downscale it or something. smile.gif Thanks alot.

No, because PS3 isn't x86 based nor is it running Windows.

Q1: What is the latest price of PS3 slim 250 gb?

Around RM1,500-ish

Q2: Where can i find the Final Fantasy XIII+PS3 slim bundled pack?

Q3: Can we play online games using the PSN? How?

Sign up for a free account on PSN, login to PSN, add some friends and start playing multiplayer games on your PS3 format software.

Q4: How to update software?

System Update
==========

Option 1: Use the built-in updater on the PS3 or;
Option 2: Download the latest .PUP file from PS3 website from the link provided on the front page of this thread, then load it into a thumb drive and install the system update

Game Update
=========

Before you start the game, the game will check for any new updates (provided you're online). If there's any, it will prompt you to download and install the updates (this is done by the system)

Yup. It's normal. That's why it's important for you to provide ample ventilation for your PS3.

If you buy PS3 SG version, your warranty will only be valid in Singapore. So, you may need to bring it to Singapore for repair or to claim warranty if anything happens. If you buy MY version, just make sure the box has the Sony Malaysia (SOMAS) genuine sticker, and you can bring it to Sony Malaysia service center (Gardens) to claim the warranty. You need to register your PS3 at Sony's website first though.
