I am thinking probably the NAS is like a barebone storage, so it will just serve the files to your PS3. The PS3 is a bit picky when it comes to MP4 files. Certain MP4 containers doesn't work pretty well, AFAIK. As darkheart mentioned, you can use PS3 media server, in which it will transcode whatever MP4 files you have to MPEG2 streams to your PS3 realtime via DLNA, which guarantees playback on it, most of the time.

QUOTE(shadowblack @ May 30 2010, 05:07 PM) I think most people here use US because the DLC for American games usually comes out first(obviously because it's their own country).Anyways, can someone answer my question? QUOTE Kinda noob question and I'm not sure I post in the correct thread but I have a Singapore 80GB PS3 and I want to know how do I register the warranty for it? Do I need to have a SG PSN ID to do so or I can use my MY one? I now currently only have a US PSN and MY account. Another question, does the Malaysian PSN accepts debit card? Thanks. QUOTE(geekster129 @ May 30 2010, 12:01 AM) You have to register the warranty at Sony Singapore website. PSN has nothing to do with the warranty. May I ask which website could I register the warranty? I only found the one which has 90 day free warranty extension but that one requires my PSN ID and if I use my MY one then it probably thought i have a MY PS3 which i dont. It probably wont work right? Thanks.Hope that helps. This post has been edited by wanteddog: May 30 2010, 06:47 PM |

hi people, my comp is spoilt, so im planning to use my old altec lansing speaker for my ps3
the thing is im not sure what model im using. i have 2 speakers (square shape) with a subwoofer and it's relatively old. So im not sure whether it is magnetically shielded. then again, if i can use it, should i plug it into my bravia's headphone slot =.=? This post has been edited by Gravity: May 30 2010, 09:17 PM |

QUOTE(dark_heart07 @ May 30 2010, 12:46 PM) are you sure it was a correct .avi files?coz my console can play divx,mp4 and avi without probs.but only certain avi files that i can play due to the different codec.you need to convert the files again into avi if want to make it work.if not,you can dload the ps3 media server and stream the video from your pc to the ps3 unit. All I can play using Media Player Classic typically.MY NAS has the DLNA features, so I just put all my videos there and stream from my ps3. Doesn't really want to install anything at my pc as I won't switch on my pc, else I might as well just watch movie from my pc. Anyway, thanks for the idea. |

Guys, in regards to PSN account, i have an SG set. Could i actually register for a Malaysia PSN account to purchase stuff? I recently purchase games via PSN using SG account via CC but was thinking, would purchasing them in RM would be cheaper (as no currency exchange occurs)?

hi guys.. havnt been posting here for quite sometime.
anyway; jst last week i finally decided to cut the rear exos fins of my PS3 mine is the earlier model 40gb phat (CECHG06 model) bought early 2008. running strong till now. finally decided to cut the rear fins for better air flow. well.. below is some pics after cutting it out. havnt had the time to sand paper it yet.. as a OCer & Case modder b4; we know every little blockade = restriction. so.. removing them = best air flow. less restriction means cooler or stable machine. Before i tested myself b4 i started to cut the rear case fin; played AO2 40thday for about 30mins, get the ps3 heated up and kinda put my hand behind to feel the air flow.. its hot, i do feel hot air blowing out. quite standard. applied the evercool defender exos fan and felt the air getting suck out.. better den the stock fan, much more hot air is suck out AFTER! allowed my ps3 to rest while i cut the rear casing fin. make sure i cut it nicely same drilled; played AO2 40th day for about 30mins, get my ps3 all worked out.. now testing time! this time i put my hand three time the distance away from my ps3 during the first test; INCREDIBLE! i can FEEL the hot air even from tat distance. with the fins remove; the amount of hot air flowing out is TREMENDOUS! + with the evercool defender exos plugin, its like a turbo charge hot air sucking machine!! now u know how air restrictive those fins are i certainly would say its a pretty fairly good mod for me PS: don worry about bugs, lizards or roaches crawling in cos if they wanna crawl in. they would have done it long time ago, besides those bugs can squeeze thru the stock gaps anytime to those who wanna mod it; its at your own risk » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by moon*: May 31 2010, 01:16 PM |
