and how to connect ps3 via wired connection using laptop?
im using maxis broadband
This is my setup (Win XP): (not wired, though, hope it helps and give you some hints)
1. Since I'm using my phone to connect to Maxis 3G, I would find the connection in the Network and Connections screen, right click on the connection and select Properties

2. Next select Advanced, there will be a settings for Internet Connection Settings. Since I'm using my laptop wireless adapter as the connection sharing point to other device, I selected Wireless Network Connection. If you are using a wired connection, probably you want to choose Local Area Connection

3. When you press OK, Windows will prompt you that only your laptop can dial up to the Internet. Press OK.

4. After that Windows will prompt you that your laptop IP address will be changed to 192.168.0.1. Press OK
5. Laptop IP changed by Windows to 192.168.0.1

6. Establish a connection between your PS3 and your PC using a router.
For my case, it will be a wireless connection. You don't need a cross cable. Normal LAN cable will do.
7. Turn On your PS3, after that, in XMB, select Settings->Network Settings
8. Setting Method = Custom
9. Connection Method = Wireless
10. WLAN Setting = Manual
11. SSID = [MY SSID]
12. Security Settings = WPA1/WPA2-PSK
13. IP Settings = Manual
14.
IP Address : 192.168.0.10
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
Default Router : 192.168.0.1
Primary DNS : 192.168.0.1
Secondary DNS : 0.0.0.0
15. MTU = Auto
16. Proxy Server = Do not use
17. UPnP = Enable
18. Verify your connection settings.
19. Test connection.
20. You should get the results as follow:
Obtaining IP Address: Successful
Internet Connection: Successful
Playstation Network: Successful
UPnP: Disabled
NAT Type: Type 2
Btw, if you don't like the idea of turning on your laptop for the sake of gaming on the PS3 for long hours, if I recalled correctly, I did saw a 3G router at Lowyat Plaza. Haven't try it before, but there's a USB port on the router itself that you probably can plug in an HSDPA modem. Maybe you can check that out.
(Laptop connected directly to PS3).
