Strictly speaking, that's not an oxymoron since you can register a product without getting any warranty benefits, which seems to be the case here.

Anyway, my own question:
I've noticed that my Blu-ray movies have very low volume, especially when compared to the volume levels I get from games. Is there a way to fix this?
Never tried blue ray movies but my games volume is sure lot lower compared to avi video I put on my PS3. Is it a PS3 prob?----

Its been awhile since I use my Ps3. Mine still 3.15 and want to upgrade it but I already install linux in it. So should i just upgrade it and will it automatically convert the free space from the linux to ps3 os or I need to reformat the hdd to regain the lost space in hdd when installing linux?
If you update the firmware, you'll lose your linux capabilityAdded on May 22, 2010, 4:34 pm

Hi guys, getting a PS3 this weekend. Getting a singapore set, got any tips on checking the product before getting it?
Mine is also singapore set. Bought it last April. just check all the accessories, manual etc. Normally if you get it from whole seller, it won't be sealed or anything. But it's quite fine. Just make the online registration right after purchase under singapore region hence the product is from singapore. And make sure the serial number is there on the box.Added on May 22, 2010, 4:36 pm

is there a reason you want a singaporean set and not a malaysian set?
you will have to format/delete that partition manually or else the space will be lost when you update.
no real idea on the proper procedure,but dont simply update-cos it's been said that you will lose the allotted space
@bolded:yeah.
there's no way to convert your ID into that of a different region,unfortunately
Really? I didn't know that. During my update, no space in the hd been lost.you will have to format/delete that partition manually or else the space will be lost when you update.
