You need a 3D-capable game, the firmware update (when it comes), a 3D-ready LCD TV and a pair of 3D glasses (one or two usually comes with the TV) for each person wanting to view the screen.

This is the first 'case' i'm hearing.

I'm a slim user too and my discs came out nicely without any scratches. Are you sure how the disc got scratched? Were you there when it was scratched?

by design the disc surface has no contact. its all laser. so even if u leave the disc in, it remains no contact. no contact means no scratch. btw, i leave my disc in 90% of d time. no scratch oso. maybe his disc drive is faulty that's why got scratch. but i think he is lying. coz if that's d case u can't play.

FYI, the lens in the Blu-ray drive of the PS3 is a moving part.
It moves closer to the disc when heavy textures (or something else in relation like playing a cutscene while loading a level) are loaded off the disc.

That, can possibly scratch your disc if the lens moves out of alignment.
Although this issue is far, far less than it was ever was before on the PS2 days, it still happens.

Hence the reason why I said in the previous page or 2 to TAKE OUT your disc when you stop playing.
If you don't want... no problem, hope for the best but if anything goes wrong don't come crying when your disc fails to read the next time.

To play safe, better take the disc out after playing. It only takes like less than 10 seconds to do that and in return, you can assure that your disc is maintain in good condition. 10 seconds only. Not too much of a hassle right?

For me, I would always keep my discs in its case nicely.

A round plastic worth > RM170 is not something cheap (like the price of a Laserdisc back in the old days) and to be taken for granted..
