If you plugin the hdd from a YLOD PS3, straight into a PS3 Slim, it will return back to previous state? or it will format the hdd??

Can't eject my WE10 disc from my YLOD PS3. I tried holding eject n switching on the power button but it will blink yellow then red. Any other method?
