QUOTE(are_joy @ Feb 5 2010, 04:52 PM) I use 3 remotes... 1 For Byond, one for VCR, and one for MCE. MCE getting b.yond hardwired using RF feed from VCR. But MCE remote is used for PVR functions like rewind, pause... Really handy. Just now watching the how to build a lightsaber and deathstar show on Discovery. Can pause when I need to go toilet for cake business halfway through show. No HD, but the fact that I can hold a show when I need to go do business for a while is priceless. This post has been edited by RAMChYLD: Feb 5 2010, 10:22 PM |

My B'yond stop working since Thursday evening and no signal, cant boot up, still waiting for the astro technician to check. initially I though it was strike by lightning but my Plasma ok. |

A word of caution, if can pls avoid programming the TV with Asstro's remote esp. if your tv is not the latest which can accept this. I had a Samsung 2007 model programmed all okay after less then a month The TV went to standby mode and cannot be turned on forever, the technician could not find anything wrong finally blamed on the on off electonic system which could have hanged due to remote programming and could cost a few hundreds! Pls note that LCD repairs costs a bomb ! I did not wish to repair it cos it was a 50hz hd ready not full hd, traded in for RM500 and got a Toshiba and with the Redza link NO programming is needed the TV wld read and act accordingly even turning on your AVR ! This is only my opinion on programing all remotes esp be cautious do not allow Beyond remote to handle your tv please ,it May interfere with your TV I repeat it MAY interfere with the system .now, i can simpan my tv remote..hehe, just use one remote oni... HDMI in or out? Most laptop HDMI is for out to TV not the input.. Maybe on some laptop/video workstation.

QUOTE(zwanvedder @ Feb 6 2010, 11:01 AM) im using 22'nch lcd with HDCP Compliant...but dont have any hdmi port, oni got DVI...still can use DVI to HDMI cable to connect from my beyond to my lcd rite? Can try. Depending on your luck and capabilities of the LCD, it may or may not work. HDCP aside, the main decision point here is that the LCD must support 50Hz video at 1280x720. Make sure the LCD support 1280x720@50Hz, some, especially the really cheap funny brand ones, don't support 50Hz. This is why I'm pushing for a 60Hz upsampling feature on the Byond. And set your byond box to 720p before connecting. Most non-1920x1080 PC LCD monitors don't have downsampling circuit to allow it to support 1080i. If your 22" support 1920x1080, make sure it can support 50Hz and interlaced signal before choosing 1080i. This post has been edited by RAMChYLD: Feb 6 2010, 12:01 PM |

As far as I know, the bitrates for HD channel are around 8-9Mb, what about local TV broadcast?
