Composite & Component output is fixed at 576i, there's no setting you can change. Try connect from byond composite output direct to your tv. If ok, try connect AEM to other source as well

Added on February 27, 2010, 6:08 pmYeah, Carling Cup Final will available in ASSP HD  rclxms.gif

composite 480i, component 1080p.

since when astro byond component output can output 1080p..??
if i'm not mistaken, maximum output for component is only 576i... notworthy.gif
HDMI only can output to maximum 1080i

and 480i is for country with NTSC TV system like USA/Canada..
We in Malaysia who used PAL tv system, max is 576i
*
im talking about the cable. not astro byond...

if ur talking about byond then component support both 720p and 1080i astro byond output. cuz component max is 1080p while composite connection max is 480i.

Agreed. It's already been said and confirmed by Astro- due to copy protection, component is locked to downscaled 576i. Only HDMI will output 1080i on the byond. Sure, you can also apply copy protection to Analog component using Macrovision, but most likely they're not going to do so due to extra cost.

Wasted money getting a stupid VGA box just because anticipating Astro to offer 1080i over component, since the prototype they presented last year supposedly can do that mad.gif
*
should hv told me earlier....dont do since when since when make ppl look stupid, in that case he hv no choice but to find hdmi to component converter which is expensive. or buy a new tv....more expensive... sucks la if ppl got tv wit no hdmi connection....wasted the hdness. cry.gif wats the necessary of locking down the component to 567i anyway?

I don't think its wrong bro.. when LCD just come out few years back, I search high and low for LCD that can display pillar box
which is 1:1 pixel to pixel display. And now Astro give you the great 1:1 option... I hope you all can appreaciate.. lolz...
*
astro provided this since v1, nobody complain about the EXISTING of pillarbox....they just complaining of REMOVING the stretch function....Astro doesnt GIVE the pillarbox to byond subscriber as it already exist, they just TOOK AWAY stretch and GIVE zoom. thats what ppl are complaining here....if ur not one of em why bother.... if u like oranges doesnt mean ppl who like apples are stupid or doesnt appreciate oranges...

All we need to blame is the International Broadcast Standard Committee, why not just standardize to either 16:9 or 4:3, solve everyone problem.

I don't think viewers in japan or usa like to watch their TV channel cropping all around the screen, the zoom mode is plain stupid, too much screen information are being chopped off, this can considered as a failed transmission LOL
*
not all viewers, maybe some. when there are options theres always some prefer this some prefer that. zoom is just plain sucks...

If it is software update? Would it be still offering pillar box and v1.0 zooming via decoder? Personally, I like to watch the correct ratio. I still on v1.0. But after experience watching v1.1s. It is awful.

astro announced that there will be pillarbox and fit to screen(stretch) which will replace zoom options.

Zoom will be replace with Fix to screen. Still wonder what is fix to screen means. Just wait and see this thursday night.

Maybe Fix to screen is,
1- Like stretch mode (just change a name) or
2- Like zoom mode (just change a name) or
3- follow original source aspect ratio (will get 16:9 SD and 4:3)
*
its fit to screen, it should be fitting the picture according to the screen.

TallJustin, I thought it can be done by just pressing the button at the Byond remote? also the default PIN 0000 is correct only if the user haven't changed the PIN for their Byond decoder...  biggrin.gif
*
yes...but u'll need to press it everytime u change the channel...and ofcourse if ppl change the PIN the PIN is no longer 0000....
