Looks like the box is giving you the same problems as mine which I got it replaced.

You need to call Astro customer service & also email at their site to complain.

any one try connect b.yond to AVR.. is it the sd channel been scale up close to HD. just want to know.

Can I connect via HDMI for video but output sound via RCA? The reason for this is because I use projector which doesn't have speakers ...

should be no problem - cos the i am plugging on HDMI to my 2nd floor and the video and audio output is plugged to the ground floor tv at the same time ... hehehe .. = )

A word of caution, if can pls avoid programming the TV with Asstro's remote esp. if your tv is not  the latest which can accept this. I had a Samsung 2007 model programmed  all okay after  less then a month The TV went to standby mode  and cannot be turned on forever, the technician could not find anything wrong finally blamed on the on off electonic system which could have hanged due to remote programming and could cost a few  hundreds! Pls note that LCD repairs costs  a bomb ! I did not wish to repair it cos it was a 50hz hd ready not full hd, traded in for RM500 and  got a Toshiba and with the Redza link NO programming is needed the TV wld read and act accordingly even turning on your AVR ! This is only my opinion on programing all remotes esp be cautious do not allow Beyond remote to handle your tv please ,it May interfere with your TV  I repeat it MAY interfere with the system  .  :

Please note that Byond set is belong to Astro, you need to return it if you terminate the service. So, if your byond set is faulty please call Astro CS, they will replace it for you.

Byond decoder tied with specific byond smart card. U cannot freely moving byond smart card to other byond decoder - just like normal astro smart card - it won't work.
U may consider to split byond signal.

I actually doubt about this, why so many byond user having no problem about it. Maybe your problem is isolated case or because of something else. I know it's too early to tell, but kind a doubt it.

what are you using for audio output? digital audio coaxial or regular RCA red/white?

using normal black and white RCA ...
