I use 3 remotes... 1 For Byond, one for VCR, and one for MCE. MCE getting b.yond hardwired using RF feed from VCR. But MCE remote is used for PVR functions like rewind, pause... Really handy. Just now watching the how to build a lightsaber and deathstar show on Discovery. Can pause when I need to go toilet for cake business halfway through show. No HD, but the fact that I can hold a show when I need to go do business for a while is priceless.
My B'yond stop working since Thursday evening and no signal, cant boot up, still waiting for the astro technician to check. initially I though it was strike by lightning but my Plasma ok. 
maybe over-heat.
