why ESPN HD is too slow to get their programs running huh... its kinda annoying to watch that HD banner..
regarding the all astro related channel will be in HD by end on 2010... its quite ambitious... not impossible.. but I think most of the content will be in 4:3 ratio with a stylized pillarbox.. macam Astro Supersport HD la kadang2... |

Meanwhile - 3D TVs are being introduced in MY - will there be any showings of World Cup in 3D as planned for other cities? |

Just saw the Samsung 3D LED TV at Best Denki KLCC, without wearing the spec, it looks like very great the quality.. but still, u need to wear spec to watch..But if u just want watch byond, 42" HDTV is good enough. No need Full HD. I am eyeing for the Toshiba Regza 42ZV600E coz got Resolution+ Feature which is good for Astro |

QUOTE(smileguy @ Mar 19 2010, 06:13 AM) I hope so too... TM should reconsider and sell IPTV also to Streamyx 4MB subscribers as well. If DETV can work beautifully at 1MB/s, TM's should too. H264 and AAC makes it possible to squeeze D1 SDTV at good frame rate over 1MB/s. And at 4MB/s, one can transmit 1080i signal using H264 with basic stereo AAC audio.QUOTE(SiriuslyCold @ Mar 19 2010, 08:31 AM) I filed a request for that channel. Just make sure it can handle 1080i (which is part of HD-Ready spec) and have HDMI that is HDCP-compliant. Full HD means 1080p, which is not available over transmission anywhere (except maybe Japan) at the moment. So far over here Full HD is only output by BD player, PC, xBox360, PS3 and media player boxes and extenders.3D TV damn expensive ler.. I have a Panasonic 42" Plasma TV with only HD Ready, not a Full HD, so, I thought I cannot set the settings to 1080i on the Astro Settings. So, should I still set to 1080i or still stick back to 720p? |

You can try setting to 1080i and see if it shows. By right most HD-Ready TVs should support 1080i.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HD_ready Only very old HD TV sets (usually CRT or plasma) cannot show 1080i and are labelled as HD-Ready. This also dun have HDMI input. As for whether you should stick to 720p or switch to 1080i, it depends on how 1080i looks on your TV (if it supports). Some TVs are lousy at handling interlaced images and the picture has blurring. Some may introduce delay with interlaced images because the TV tries to deinterlace the image. Try first, and if your TV displays blurring or delay and you decide that you cannot live with them, then switch back to 720p. This post has been edited by RAMChYLD: Mar 19 2010, 11:37 AM |

QUOTE(azrin_kiko @ Mar 19 2010, 11:26 AM) Which is the problem. My point is it's possible to use IPTV using streamyx, even over a 1MB/s connection, as DETV has shown. Only thing is TM dun want to make TM-IPTV available to Streamyx users. Their marketing people probably thought that by limiting TM-IPTV to HSBB they can force people to get HSBB in order to get TM-IPTV. If that's the case, they forgot about the rest of the country where TM will NOT roll out HSBB where there's also market for the channels they carry on TM-IPTV.This post has been edited by RAMChYLD: Mar 19 2010, 11:37 AM |
