I think the problem for F1 is that maybe ESPN HD is not actually truly functioning.... hehe just maybe... cos I read somewhere.. there have been similar case but it was Champions League.... they broadcast SD version with pillarbox... which is kinda annoying..

this time maybe astro kononnye nak fix things a bit by zooming the 4:3

damn....

why ESPN HD is too slow to get their programs running huh... its kinda annoying to watch that HD banner..

regarding the all astro related channel will be in HD by end on 2010... its quite ambitious... not impossible.. but I think most of the content will be in 4:3 ratio with a stylized pillarbox.. macam Astro Supersport HD la kadang2...

RTM HD probably wont be available until mid or late 2012... biggrin.gif

HD world is just so damn expensive... to get a HD Beta Camera alone can buy me at least 2 proton cars.. biggrin.gif

interested to see broadcasters using consumer grade HD camcorders to record their show, see how good it will turn out to be  brows.gif

I hope they wont do it.... biggrin.gif

about the proton cars... maybe 2 Gen-2 kot... dunno much about car price la... but HD camera is definitely expensive... thats why our local content provider and film makers cant afford to shoot in HD kot... cos the cost is just too high...

I read in this thread I think... saying that all Astro Channel will be in HD by the end of 2010... WOW!!

huh.. i tot as long as fellow Malaysian is involved then will broadcast... :S
*
then who is involved in that England match huh?? shebby??

arena is a good effort of government and private sector to RE-PROMOTE local sports to Malaysian... especially the youth... MOST MALAYSIAN don't really care about their local sporting heroes.. especially football...

thats why they include this in the family pack.. so everyone will be exposed to it... (every Astro customer I mean)

so for now... lets just enjoy the limited HD channels available... biggrin.gif

at least we have it.. biggrin.gif

in time things will get better... hopefully in the near future la..

as for the local broadcaster... please start making ur HD content in preparation for the HD broadcast... cos we wouldn't want to watch HD channel with upscale stuff all the time....

hermm.. that was recorded in HD but not broadcasted in HD...

But I do know that RTM is capable of broadcasting in HD as they have done a couple of test I think in HD broadcast around Klang Valley...

Yeah I know there are local production that shot their work in HD... in fact... I just finished shooting a documentary in HD... and yes it needs a lot of computer power to process it but its not impossible...

but like u said... at the end of the day.. the end product are still converted to SD... biggrin.gif
