... This year's competition also saw an increasing number of younger males aged 10-24 tuning in, with 18% of the demographic watching the action. This represents a 22% increase over the first week of competition for the 2009 Australian Open.

Go to your installation settings, and change your HD Settings to either 576i or 576p.
*
you do this every time you change to a SD channel, and set to 720p or 1080i when you switch to HD channel?

Honestly speaking, I don't see any difference using 576p to watch HD channels compared with 720p or 1080i.

Yesterday when i was watching WWE Raw, using 1080p, the PQ looks grainy, when i switch to 576p, the overall image feels sharper instantly.

Switch to some other channels like Wah Lai Toi and AEC, also looked better. wub.gif
*
ok, perhaps worth trying; I just don't want to feel i have to switch the resolution every time i switch channels or between SD/HD ... that would suck

Mind asking if B.yond decoder support which version of HDMI? icon_question.gif

dunno - but what does it matter? HDTV transmissions get by on HDMI1.1 spec

Question:

Where is the split done for the new dish? Is it at the dish or can I retain my existing splitter and just take the single source from the new dish?
*
apparently you cannot split HD... I guess with the bandwidth it's not advisable although I have no equipment to test this.

So, the split is done at the dish - my new lnb has 2 outputs, one output for HD (direct to HD decoder) and the other output for SD, which you can then split at any point after that

if you have/want to use more than one decoder you have to tell Astro and they instruct the tech to bring the appropriate lnb (with up to 4 outputs, which puts a theoretical maximum of 4 HD decoders per dish)

r u saying byond installation is free? im only paying rm20 monthly for that?

1 more thing.. is the byond decoder is different with the other 1? what i meant was, my old decoder i wish to keep in my old house.. i planning to get byond for my new house.. my question is, is the beyond decoder it self complete with the old pakage + 5 HD channel? meaning RM84.90 + RM20?  hmm.gif
*
no you need a new package for your new home - the byond decoder itself doesn't come with subscriptions. And no subscriptions = no channels. in fact u want hd u hav to subscribe to package with hd channels

wats the difference between 1080i and 1080p?

Astro HD is which?

btw, my tv is a 1920 by 1080 , so which is which?

thx
*
1080i = interlaced
1080p = progressive

if you don't understand what interlaced and progressive means read this

byond is 1080i on some channels and 720p on some channels
