lol having a countdown here? I think he will be late...
i duno how to explain wats ping but i think the higher the ping the lousier it it. But ping values changes all the time, so there is no worries about getting high or low.
I will not hold any responsibility for any wrong info here tongue.gif

another meaning of cap is to limit ur usage too. If u use over ur limit given by the ISP, the extra usage that u use will either be throttled down to a lower speed or they will charge u extra charges

Time taken for your requested data to be received from the server.. This is essential mostly for online gaming to measure lagginess or in other word 'delay-ness'...

yup i played soldier front the lowest ping malaysia server can go is only 218 while us server can achieve 10ping only. So they will always flame those players with ping above 200ping for causing lagness

QUOTE(venicelim @ Apr 8 2010, 09:06 AM)
here is my complete story

i applied
1/4 at KL TM Point
2/4 the technician go my house in penang to set up modem
3/4 found that my house desktop cant connect to internet, dun wana call the technician, i want my HP to process first, so till now my house streamyx cant use yet, but my netbook is processing
5/4 receive HP email, estimated to receive netbook on 13/4
7/4 my dad just inform me that the delivery ppl just call him up that netbook will delivered to my house tonight. I pray hard so that they will pass the netbook to my family member cz i am not in penang
7/4 receive the netbook !!  icon_idea.gif  ALthough i am not personally there, they just pass the netbok to my parents.

so now, the problem i left is
the netbook can connect to internet through wifi connection. But if i use LAN cable to connect the router to my house desktop, the internet is connected but the web browser cannot load webpage. It keeps pop-up message like bla bla bla offline...someting like that and ask me to connect dial up connection. Now wondering how to solve this, need to call up 100? but my netbook can connect and surf web, so it is not streamyx problem too right? so, install a new web browser on my desktop?

also, i applied 512kbps. At the connection status there, the speed is something like 54.0Mbps, is this correct?
@kenloh, if not mistaken, your application is something around my date also right? Wish you can receiv ur netbook soon! thumbup.gif

mine is existing phone line wif existing combo stim-x pkg.
frankly, when i install my new line - i called TMPoint directly...
coz it was a new hse development - and met an installer @ TM Riser near my hse area... i ask him can help me, he pass me a direct no and look for tis xxx person.
then once the line was ready - she contacted me (take note i've waited for sometime for them to pull new line to my area)
anyway, she allowed me to select nice no w/o payment...
and the nx day, she arrange installer...

for tis line, i applied on 27/3, terminate my existing stim-x on 31/3 (i thk to follow bill date)
Applied and approved my new stim-x on 1/4
installed on 3/4
getting my netbook 10/4 (sigh, still abt 10 working days frm registration)...

Well, just went to TMPoint and they said "SYSTEM OFFLINE" =_="

Anyway, just to share my experience to those their Streamyx is under their parents name.

Well, for my case here, I terminate my current Streamyx account.
The staff said need to wait 30 days.
Somehow, I request him to change my exisiting number to a new number BUT STILL REMAINING UNDER MY PARENTS NAME for the TM Homeline.

It takes arround 3-7 working days but I waited 4 days and they already change my existing number to the NEW number.

Then today I went to TMPoint want to register the CoolUni pack under this new number but System Offline.

I think this is one of the solution which is not mention under 1st post.
By doing so, we can skip the 30 days quarantine period, skip the wiring fees (RM30), no need to wait the contractor to come to install new homeline.

Hope this can help others
Cheers

I guess I'm one of the not-so-lucky ones... Have been waiting for 3 weeks since my new homeline has been installed and still no streamyx, after countless calls to the TMPoint branch at my area, two visits, two calls to 100 and two complaints to CFM. Really testing my patience.

they will come over and set up a new homeline using your existing homeline port, if you have extra ones. I had two homeline ports and the one on the ground floor was changed to a new homeline.

Is that Windows 7? Maybe you should disconnect wifi properly by turning off the switch. After that, connect the netbook directly.

When you applied for 512Kbps, expect the download speed to be around 50+ Kbps but no more than 130+ Kbps.. That 54Mbps is the connection speed between your computer to the router. The connection speed from your router to the world is still 512Kbps like you subscribed..
