Certification of family income less than RM3000 is necessary. That's what I was being informed by TM Point Puchong.

In depth experience: http://mengsuan.blogspot.com/2010/01/strea...l-uni-pack.html

Sounds impossible for us to obtain.

Guys, why dont just apply student package?
contract 1 year, 1mbps only for RM100 and 512kbs for RM50....
even 512kbps is better than 384Kbs...LOL....

Although cant get the netbook..mayb 2 years more the netbook only cost few hundred bucks only and need not to STICK with the contract! Am i right?LOL...

I suggest u all just apply for student package ...
I can help u all up if want apply because I am a agent of TM now..hehe^^

The student package is not that a good deal. If I've not mistaken, rental is still necessary.

*ahem* no advertising in discussion forums.

I went to another TM point. I have difficulties because the phone line and streamyx is under my father's account. I will have to terminate the streamyx, wait cool down period of 1 month, then reapply Cool Uni pack.

I wasn't in favour of this method, and I insisted that they have to give me a better solution. 1 hour after some negotiation, they were able to assist me terminate existing streamyx without quarantine period, and then reapply Cool Uni pack again. The max downtime suggested was just about 2 weeks, which I can definitely survive on my mobile 3G connection.

Anyone has the specific model number of the offered HP mini 210?

There are different variants of HP Mini 210 in terms of:
- screen resolution
- bluetooth
- wifi b/g or n
- 3 cell or 6 cell battery
- colour

Cool down period is applicable if your existing streamyx is not under your name. So it has to terminate the old account. If the existing account has remaining contract, there is no way to do it. You can rewire another new telephone line though.

That is quick. I've waited for about 10 days (including weekends) but not a single news about the netbook or the modem.

It has been 2 weeks since I applied. Went back to TMPoint today. Checked and they say no record of application, only termination. They gave me option:

1. New TM homeline, new Streamyx (faster)
2. Continue waiting...

My application failed. My existing streamyx is terminated but the new account has to await quarantine period of 1 month. No internet for me at the moment because I do not want to change my existing home line number.

My verdict: Unless you are registering this as a totally new account, or the previous streamyx is already under your name, and without any remaining contract, applying for this cool uni pack is very difficult. I have literally travelled to TMpoints for >10 times but still failed.

so u need to wait for 1 month until the new package implement?
did u try apply for another home line? some say can using this method....
buy need to pay for extra RM100...

let said i apply 384 package...

Rm135 register + some others
RM 200 1st month bill
RM50x24=1200
new home line RM100

total : 1635.......
im not sure still have any hidden charge

RM1635 for a netbook ???? is it worth ? coz the contract is 2 year ohmy.gif
or....
on second method, just walk in shop and but a netbook, free of any contract.....  wink.gif

You can apply another home line, in fact, TMPoint want me to do that. I did not allow them to do so because:
1. I don't want to change number
2. It cost more to maintain 2 numbers if I want to keep the old number alive
3. I will have to drill ugly wires into my house for the new home line

Because of my insistent to keep the old home line number, my application is suspended for 1 month.

384kbps is considered free broadband because the RM50 is actually for the netbook instalment. In other words, we buy netbook, we get free 384 broadband (that should be the right way). If you want faster speed, that's when you buck up for better packages, hence broadband is no longer considered 'free'

The netbook costs about RM1200 in some sales thread in this forum itself. Theirs even come with 6 cell battery while TM gives only 3 cell battery.

QUOTE(Suk @ Feb 11 2010, 03:42 PM)
today went to tmpoint upgrade from RM90 combo to RM100 4mb student pack with my frd.
B4 tat we went to TMN DESA TMpoint. they say we need to terminate the existing streamyx acc and register the new Unipack package. To terminate the existing acc we need to wait for 30days.

Today I went to TMpoint Pandan Indah, They just upgrade the existing acc to new 4mb package in 5min. They told me, is ok if the existing streamyx acc is not belongs to u. if u terminate the existing acc there is a 30days waiting period to terminate your existing streamyx acc. and after terminate u might/might not got port anymore.... this guy said. nvr mind, I will do the upgrade from the existing acc without terminate anything... somemore even faster.
*
Same promise (no quarantine period) given to me from TMPoint Serdang. In the end, still failed.

hi, I check from TM, those who still under other package contract can still upgrade to UniPack just that it must be is high speed compare your current package and u may not be able to change HSBB when they start releasing it since its come with laptop and modem
*
My add on:
* Upgrade only applicable for account under your own name. If the account someone else's, premature termination is required. Subjected to penalty.

QUOTE(chuayewhui @ Feb 13 2010, 10:55 AM)
Yes, u are right...

But TMpoint in my near  didn't terminate the account instead they directly upgrade from streamyx combo to streamyx unipack which is not a student name and tat is my frd dad.

that guys say, is ok, i help u to upgrade directly from the exist owner without termination. If u terminate and re-apply. then there is a period to wait. ( 30days ) and wait for 5days to apply the new streamyx again. and there is also a probability if the area no port for u... then u GG since u terminate 30days ago.
So we applied on Thursday and Today (waited <48hrs), TM contractor went to his hse and check SNR margin.
*
Your tmpoint is just great. The tmpoint that i went suggested a termination with an exemption from 30day quarantine, but still quarantined when I terminated. I don't even know what's the truth being reported by different people in tmpoint.

bro ,wat u mean for

2. It cost more to maintain 2 numbers if I want to keep the old number alive

from the info i get from the TM is just the installation fees for the new phone line , cost around rm75deposit and rm10stamp duty, after that no charge as the line is oni for the streamyx usage(no call allowed), didnt mention anything about extra charges for old number .... anyone to clarify????
*
Of course it cost more to maintain 2 lines. The old line will then require rental fees.

Sorry, Nope.. unless an acceptable reason.

When I told them "someone" was able to do an upgrade, they asked for the person's home line number. Hence I needed the number.

I have thoughts to withdraw my application form from Serdang TMpoint and divert to the Pandan Indah TMPoint. I need to be very aggresive already. I have literally went to Serdang TMPoint for more than 10 times all the way from Nilai. Fuel wasted costs way more than 10% of the netbook already.
