QUOTE(aceedburn @ Jan 19 2010, 10:51 PM) i use 16:9 for all channels. No, the images don't look fatter in my LG FULL HD LCD, but i know some other lcd tv brands have that fat problems...not on my LG! hmmm, ok bro thanks for the info. 16:9 on HD looks fine in my TV. Just that in SD channel, 16:9 looks a bit weird.

We are so used to waiting for installers to come install, actually here in Malaysia there are some customers who install themselves! My friend is teaching in the interior of Sarawak. When he applied Astro, the dealer said cannot install, coz need to use long boat to reach his school. So the installer connected and assembled everything. My friend just needed to bring back and fix the dish facing the correct way. He had to see other Astro dishes at that school to know the correct direction. Upon trial and error, he got signal strength 70 (SD). Ok la. Then smsed the dealer to activate.

Astro qualified installer suppose to have the equipment to properli align the dish to the Measat 3 but I guess what your friend do just like my installer Mr. Hii do. Thats why he got an assistant to check out the signal on the TV set why he's adjusting the ODU/dish. This post has been edited by willkso: Jan 20 2010, 12:25 AM

Hi guys, i'm sill puzzle on the Surround Dolby Digital from the Byond set though i read thru your comments. I was just wondering why when I select Dolby Digital only there is no sound but when i select stereo and dolby sounds resume for HD channels.
My question: 1) Do i still get Dolby sound when i select both stereo and dolby output? 2) What can i do to get this surround dolby sound thru the HDMI from the Byond box to my TV (Samsung Series 5) especially if i dont intend to get a AVR or an ampliflier, just strictly from the TV only. I also read on your comments to adjust the setting on the TV but there is no such thing as to select dolby output. Samsung has its own True Surround....
I just want to get the best audio quality for this new HD services

I just want to get the best audio quality for this new HD services U wont get sound thru TV for HD channels if select DD5.1 option. SD channels ok, 'cos theirs only stereo. According to Astro people, they purposely 'off' the 5.1 sound ouput to TV thru HDMI to avoid 'distorted' sound(is it true?). So, to have sound thru TV for all (SD&HD )channels u must opt for analog/stereo. To enjoy DD5.1 u must go thru AVR/amp home theatre.
