i got full signal 255

go to installation setting at home menu then put 0000 as default pin then click next

yup...it works... and if u watch SD channels using component, it is much sharper....the scaling chip from my panny is much better than the decoder's ....what a shame

any1 here has successfully changed entry point in satellite settings ? already tried but can't save the new settings, always revert to my original settings.

No no.... the component output is SD, 576i....only 576i.... so when  u feed this signal to ure tv, ure tv will know automatically what to do, which is resize it for u.... i feel that resizing done through tv looks sharper...

Tip: If your TV have both HDMI and component connector available, connect both to your Byond decoder. Watch HD on HDMI and SD on component.  SD channel more vivid and sharper on  component. It does make a difference. 

More or less the same on SD channels. Hard to tell. But the stereo sound is definitely better.
Wait until they have better ways of utilizing the overscan video output (thru HDMI) and smarter ways to stretch the 4:3 source.

finally i managed to change satellite entry point from #1 to #18. previously i said there is no "OK" or "Yes" button to save my new settings. but after recieved updating from astro (around 1am today) i managed to see the "OK" or "Yes" button. My software version rite now is 1.0.1.001 dec 23 2009.

Just installed my B.Yond set yesterday. The picture quality for the HD channels is superb. But i wander why the quality for other channels seems to be worst than before. U guys have the same prob? Or it is just my eyes are in denial after watching the super clear HD channels. Hmmm

No way is the picture quality worse on SD with HDMI.
It is better.

I think most of you are noticing this becasue you just spent half an hour looking at an HD channel and went to SD. Naturally the difference is huge when doing this but it is still better then what it was.

Signal strength quite bad at 155. Anybody have lower then this?
He also checked signal strength before installation of new dish with the old dish and it was also around 150.
Installer says the concealed wiring is too long (3 storey house) and signal can only be improved by moving dish down.

But still looks great on TV and I love the 5.1

You love the DD5.1? What amp/avr ur using? Are you sure ur getting 'real' DD5.1 without 'echo' / leaking?

Try listening thru the TV speakers and see if you notice a delay.
I think it could be your set up that is causing this.

Yeah.

You have sellected that channels that are dolby 5.1 be sent down the digital audio cable and that is only going to your home theatre. Set the decoder to stereo if you want to hear those channels via your TV and the audio will be sent in stereo via the HDMI connection. HDMI does not send 5.1 audio, you can't get dolby by using HDMI.
It seems that most programmes on History and National Geo are real 5.1 but so far I've not noticed any on HBO. It is a programme by programme thing so even though a channel might be 5.1 the actual programme is where the audio comes from and if that isn't 5.1 then we won't get it. In this case the channels do a kind of stereo feed over 5.1 channels but it's not  real "surround sound" as in 6 seperate channels of audio.

just got my Beyond installed...yeah!

on the digital audio setting to my DD avr - can i still get DD 5.1 if i just set the decoder to analog + digital mode?? Or do i have to specifically select DD 5.1? Coz kinda cumbersome to switch this everytime...

coz i've selected both modes from Settings and my amp shows only Digital PCM and not DD 5.1

and does DD 5.12 only appear for film with DD 5.1 encoding or it applies to every channel that has HD from Astro?

set my Beyong to DD 5.1 and voila i got full DD 5.1 glory sginal in my AVR...sadly today's movies are kinda boring to really work those surround nirvana...
