u guys notice that on Geo HD, the 5.1 sound a bit blur with lots of noise in the back ground (like the wind blowing into the recording mic) and the narration is a bit soft?

The History & sports HD are OK though....

for documentaries...the location recording and audio post production process won't be as detailed as films - don't think they worry so much about the panning of sound in documentaries...

i'm sure the noise that you're hearing is probably the winds blowing thru the mics - coz they normally put 'wind screen' on the mics to reduce wind noise during shoot - but not everytime that's effective - esp when you're recording nature sound..

Mrk ada tukar you punya dish tak? Astro b.yond ada piring yang lebih besar dari Astro biasa. Tapi ada installer yang tak tukar dish kerana "out of stock". Jika dish tak tukar kena call Astro CS dan request.

Alignment macam mana? Ada align dengan betul tak? Wayar macam mana? Mungkin wayar terlalu tua (10 tahun lalu punye wayar tak boleh guna, tahun lepas punya boleh) atau ada sambungan dlm tidak disambung dengan betul.

just wanna share some info with u guys.

Have you ever encounter this?
In any channel, you can see some of of video timeline (just barely) on top of the screen and your top screen would also edges (instead of straight horizontal line)

Well, I have and I have managed to solve this problem. It is done by selecting display type in your TV's setting. I got my setting to display "full pixel" at first and after I changed it to "Normal" the timer goes away and my top screen is not edgy anymore.

Just thought that I'd share this info with you guys...

regards..

This is typical for OTA broadcast. There is information that is used by the broadcasters normally in the last 1-2lines of pixels. What you have done is to introduce some overscan, for OTA shd be ok.

Mine 8 years old coaxial cable still perfectly ok. Entry Point #1 signal = 222, Entry point # 18 signal = 244. Entry point # 12 signal = 255. So far no problem viewing during heavy rain. Haven't try yet during extreme heavy rain.

Natgeo Hd offers the best 5.1 surround compared to History HD ans ASSP HD.

More like Nat Geo napping. Astro is most likely not allow to temper with the incoming video stream. I had a colleague who worked with Astro back when I was working for a college in 2006, and she said that Astro is not allowed to censor the video, only relay. Censoring is done by source (i.e. HBO, Nat Geo). If they even so cut off a programming to insert advertisements at wrong time, they can get into trouble.

Why would you complain tho? Shows that our country is finally progressing forward.
*
Are you sure? Coz I'm pretty sure that they cut more than one frame that day. It was a documentary on NatGeo SD showcasing the holocaust during Hitler's era. Narration before that stated that it was a picture of the place where they commited the mass murder. But the picture was not shown.
