I registered online. 24 hrs already but no T&C call. Should I call them instead? Or will they definitely call after we registered online?

Called Astro CS just now to register again. Was informed that Byond's marketing team will only probably call me on Monday, since they are on holiday till Sunday. Called CS on Sat. This morning Astro called for T&C, and promised installer will contact between 2-3 days. And Byond will be up and running within 10 days. Let's see if they can keep to their promise.....

QUOTE(eMKs @ Jan 5 2010, 02:46 PM) Is it true? how many of you guys experience the same? I'm also thinking of the same thing. I subscribed to Astro just last week, just for the purpose of getting Byond, so I got the newer decoder with component out. Wanna swap with my dad's 9 years old Phillips DMT. But worried the installer maybe fussy and wants the exact decoder tied to my account. Another option is of course to pay RM80, which I am reluctant. Should kautim with the installer lah like this. I apply byond thru online yesterday, today cs call me for t&c. She said they will install all unit (dish, cable, dmt & remote) but i must return old set. If i want to keep old set, they will charge RM80 for each items. that's mean, DMT-RM80, dish-RM80, smart cad-RM80 I said i want to keep dmt only for my mom's house (still use sluggish old nokia dmt Could i do that? |

QUOTE(auronthas @ Jan 5 2010, 04:34 PM) Received call from Astro CS, no problem on smartcard activation system, apparently the Astro Installer did not carry out the right procedure contacting IVR (dunno what stand for) giving his Astro installer code, Astro beyond serial number and smartcard number. Gave him the Astro installer contact number, hope the problem and activation can be done soonest. IVR-Interactive Voice Response |

QUOTE(zwanvedder @ Jan 5 2010, 04:41 PM) For activation. So installer doesn't have to talk to humans. Just enter numbers through the phone to send the necessary numbers in order to do activation. Hey, they should put another option in their IVR for us waiting for Byond. "Thank you for calling Astro. Press 1, if you want to give us middle finger for delaying your Byond. Press 2, to say "@#$% you" to us for not calling for T&C, or Press 3, to shoot our CS in the balls. |

QUOTE(willkso @ Jan 11 2010, 08:53 PM) I got mine installed on 6 Jan wherby my colleague got his installed on 31 Dec 2009. My Byond decoder came with ODU 60 (old type dish). So, I requested the installer not to install it and I use back my old dish. Called the installer this afternoon and according to him, there's new set arrived today with ODU 65 but it's allocated to some others subscriber. This morning, I just noticed the DMT collection form under my door. Apparently the installer came yesterday when I was at work, and left the form there with his phone number. I just noticed the form today, and called him immediately. He's coming in half an hour. The installer is Mr Hii. Written on the form are both my old and new DMT and smartcard serial number. |

Anybody tried opening their Byond box dy? I'm planning to do that later, and will slowly try to pry the warranty sticker so that it will be intact. U all know that the casing is the slide in type right? If you take off the screws, then just slide the casing to the back to open. Well, my box, on the top part, they did not slide it in properly. So it's bulging. How can that escape QC at their manufacturing plant?

QUOTE(willkso @ Jan 12 2010, 04:29 PM) Good that you get yours as well. Bintulu as far as I know have 4 Astro installer and 2 of them with the surname Hii. So, not sure your installer is the one driving Hilux or the one driving old van. I did not notice his vehicle, but he came alone. No assistant. Astro gave wrong number to him, that's why he did not contact me yesterday. It was a correct dish, the darker ODU 65. He was a nice chap. Activated my account over speakerphone, so that I can listen to the IVR. About three minutes after the call ended, I can start viewing already.Have you check if your outdoor unit was a darker colour than previous or it's the same old type? |

QUOTE(AjkR06 @ Jan 13 2010, 10:09 AM) I read in some forums, you just need RM50 and RM80 to register new astro... New registration now RM30. They said that day till end of 2009 only, but can go to any Astro dealer to confirm. I know as I registered for Astro just to get HD . As soon as my account got activated, straightaway call Astro to change to Byond. Used the old decoder for two weeks only. compare to first batch subscriber that need to pay 1.5k ++ to register in 1996.... my uncle also pay RM899 + RM100 for installation I think in 2000 if i;m not mistaken... now, his decoder already damaged... |

QUOTE(minimize @ Jan 14 2010, 06:19 PM) AXN HD is more great. CSI, supernatural, Numb3rs, terminator, chuck all in glory HD. Hahaha. Man! This thread really tickles me lah sometimes. Got installer yang tidak bawa tangga lah. Just give the dish lah. Astro should just give us self install kit. Just put the dish outside, it will automatically find the strongest signal.BTW today is my 28 days of waiting. Installer just give me a dish only. Dunno when he wanna come to install. |

QUOTE(willkso @ Jan 16 2010, 04:53 PM) MY ODU was replaced from ODU 60 to ODU 65 this noon. Entry point # 1 signal improved from 185 to 222, entry point # 18 signal improved from 217 to 244. Thanks a lot to those who's helping out! Haha, good for you! So the same Mr Hii again came to change? My decoder got changed yesterday, and I think it was your Mr Hii that came to change. Have yet to try though, coz I'm outstation right now, and Astro needs to go through the activation process again. One interesting note. If you need to change the decoder, the smartcard will be retained. So at the beginning, the new decoder will refuse to accept the smartcard, due to the one decoder one smartcard policy. Astro will need to reassociate the smartcard with the new decoder from their HQ. |
