Story sounds fishy and lots of collaborations required eg.
1) if line is barred, number can still receive calls, just not call out
2) if complete number change, who was the sim card collected by?
3) all telco has a backup log of all call diversion, sms sent, calls made which are system controlled and near to tamper proof
4) How was the credit card sent or collected?
5) If collected in person from card centre, Mykad and thumbprint matching is a must
Do understand that from a Bank's point of view, not all "fraud" case are genuine ones. You will be surprised at the ingenuity of the parties concerned but rest assured, the truth shall prevail ultimately. Do keep us updated.
its a bank which offer air asia card...u guys shud know bout tat
anyway, to answer ur queries...
1.) line is totally barred, n no phone received or call is allowed at all. not the type of bar we get if we use > CL
2.) there is no complete number change, my friend line just turn out normal after a while when he came back to m'sia and the maxis service centre cant explain why
3.) i agree, both maxis and citibank have backup call. they deny to provide us the records to show that it wasnt my friend who called to request a card lost
4.) 5.) the replacement card was collected by the fraudster, i have no idea how he get it
anyhow it really doesnt matter to my friend if the bank treat it as a fraud or not, the fact is when the card was swipe in Ipoh:-
- he is in klang, and its in my office premises with CCTV records can be used as evidence
- we went to maxis centre together, hence they shud have our records
- the card he has is in the safe, and it was never used at all
the bank will still call my friend once a while to ask for payment, but we dont think its our fault n not gonna pay
