@cantona7,
I previously use UOB. Last month when I was in Singapore I used Standard Chartered because I had 5x Choice points tongue.gif

Ok this is a very subjective question but generally, what's the starting Credit Limit bank usually gives to a Visa Infinite or World Mastercard cardholder? Is it 100k CL?

Last week I called HLB CS and told them I want to cancel my HLB Plat MC. Actually, over the years, I have been happy with HLB Customer Service and my CL is 6 figures but due to lack of promotion and cash rebate offers, I have not been using my HLB card for months.

Today got a call from their Card Cancellation Department representative and I must say I am very happy once again with HLB CS. The representative offered to credit to my account 20,000 reward points. Now since I have been holding the card prior to 2008, I only need 7000 reward points to offset for the RM50 tax; therefore, HLB is giving me extra reward points of 13,000! rclxm9.gif

After I happily accepted the offer, the representative then called me again and informed me that HLB will automatically for the next three years waive my annual fees! Save me the hassle to call them for the next three years thumbup.gif

Having said the above, I have no reason to use HLB card as there aren't discount for HLB card at most places I do patronise sad.gif except maybe now Canton-i can get RM10 voucher when spending above a certain amount.

As for UOB, last month I accepted their offer to swipe 3xRM100 within 14 days to get Smart$ points but it was not reflected in my statement this month, so called CS and was told it would only be credited during my anniversary month.

@Gen-X,
I'd been bz; dad had a fall and had to go for an operation; he's recovering well now but physio 3x a week so I'd been bz chauffeuring him up and down. Also recently took VP of the property I purchased in 2007 so been bz thinking about kitchen fittings and all; plus house shopping for yet another property *oopS*

Will be more active from now *smiles* but I've really lost touch with the CC world. I also have no incentive to stop my CCs for now because most of my CCs were issued in the Q3 so I figured I'll just stick with it till then tongue.gif

hope you don't have to reduce your CL to RM1K like tgeoklin when you applying loan for next property tongue.gif

Yah, the RM50tax at anniversary date give us sometime to consider... also give banks to reconsider how to keep card holders by giving them a carrot (like HLB Card in my case) as many are still cancelling their cards.

@Gen-X,
I was with the bankers this morning and they (HSBC) did not ask what my credit risk was on my CCs; but I did tell them I'd just cancelled my HSBC CCs and Premier account. When he asked why, I just told him "Because... they upset my mother by not giving her the Premier customer Ang Pow packets"! LOL

Well, RHB's Infinite card does start you off with RM200K limit while for SCB, its a min RM50K and CIMB's VI/WMC starts from RM75K excluding the Enrich WMC. But its all subjective and dependent on your respective credit ratings smile.gif

I doubt tinkerbell will be in the same situation as myself for I am seriously earning much too little to justify the whooping CLs with all the banks as practically had most of the cards in the market as well sad.gif and that's before even factoring in the numerous loans outstanding

Welcome back and sorry to hear about your dad, hope he recovers soon. And no fret about the RM50 tax charges as most banks will bear it for their high spending customers. Btw good luck with the SCB, hope you had sms in your entry for the guaranteed gifts. Its 100% sure get this time round tongue.gif

Good to hear about the HLB offer, which is what I had been telling everyone, as only MBB will tell you to fly kite the last I heard as their Mgt had been directed not to compromise and to set an example while showing that we need them more than they need us tongue.gif

Sorry about the UOB issue as before that its a strict off RM50 credit into a/c but BNM steps in after a local bank complained. Goes to show why and how proton is the number 1 car in M'sia blink.gif

@MilesAndMore,
It's a true story. We weren't able to get our hands on our of the HSBC Premier Ang Pow packets last year. The first time my mom asked about it they told her it wasn't ready; to come back the next day. She did and then she was told it's not available.

Whether the mortgage officer believe me or not, it's entirely up to him but he did say he'll try to get us Premier Ang Pow packets this year! LOL.

@tgeoklin,
My earnings is nothing comparable to little; it's zero! Obviously I couldn't tell the Mortgage officer that tongue.gif

I did SMS in BUT I was late so I guess I won't be getting the damn TV [obviously that's what I was hoping/aiming for]. Ah well, will try again come 5th February *grins*

Eh btw.. what's the take with UOB on their CCs again?

No worries, even if you did not get the TV, the cameras is a sure bet as everyone will win not like previously when the prize was limited. As to UOB, previously they gave RM50 cashback straight off to waive the service tax but now they only give RM50 worth of points for you to redeem something as BNM had instructed them accordingly

enrich is malaysia airlines' frequent flyer's programme just like krisflyer to singapore airlines. you may use the miles you accumulated to redeem for free flight tickets or upgrade to better class i.e business or first class.

1000 enrich miles can't get you much, most redemption are in the 5 or 6 figures.

Added on January 14, 2010, 11:27 amtgeoklin, you have world enrich mastercard with 300k CL?

LOL ! Last year's one was in dark Gold color with the HSBC Premier clearly written on the front. Got only one such Ang Pow last year and it was from my dad's sister. Not exactly a good news for her as now i know she got at least RM200k of FD in HSBC laugh.gif

Scanned image of HSBC Premier Ang Pow from last year. Colors are a bit off though.
