Card selection is very much an individual choice. What you like and want in a card would not be applicable to all.

Let's go over to your next question. NO ... it won't make it easier for you to apply for HSBC card. You need to be a principal card holder of any cards to make it count towards your financial history. Once you are approved as a principal, you are free to sub it to another person - in fact that can even be done at the point of your own application.

Thanks. Now i get it!

hi all, i have a question abt credit card oustanding balance.

my sister is having high debt ratio for her credit card and she got no other card to do balance transfer in order to save the high interest.

is this possible to write in letter to the existing credit card company to ask for installment plan for the card in few months period and lower down the itnerest?

It makes me wonder if we are the only country in the world that is charging "credit card tax". A search in google returns Malaysia only. Really 1 Malaysia Boleh.

Can but you need to reconsider this option coz normally it is meant for cc defaulting customers. I don't think you or your sister would want to have such a bad record. Plus although the option is available but it is up to the bank to decide - not necessarily they will agree to your proposal.

Best if she could consider taking a personal loan option from the bank - at least this still achieve your end objective which is to avoid paying high interest.

July 2011 is your card expiry date and your card anniversary is every year in July. Gov will charge you the tax in July 2010 and every year in July till they withdraw this service tax. (Applicable to the principle and the supp, normally supp card follow principle anniversary date)

Bro, we have the same combo. Ikhwan AMEX and Ikhwan Visa Petronas. I am quite reluctant to let go the Ikhwan AMEX, but Najis punya pasal, I'll let it go before the anniversary, next July. Was really hoping that they will only charge the tax on a per account basis. Since cards from the same bank usually share the same CL. I'll have till July to wait. sad.gif

I have called MBB CS this morning. They said that it'll be charged on per card basis.

Therefore, I have to let go before anniversary date.

By the way, my Visa Petronas is not from Ikhwan family. It's from MBB conventional banking.

They will do this on case to case basis. taking a personal loan does not always means it's cheaper smile.gif

If you take the risk and don't receive full rebate for the big transaction, then you will get 0.5x choice point for every RM1 spent only.

To be exact, my rebate stopped at RM618. I was not given FULL rebate for the last transaction that received cash back.

I've been using maybank visa for about 5/6 months already. Total interest paid was about rm25, and total i gain from treatpoints, the value was about rm70.
That means i've profited rm70-rm25 = rm45 by using a credit card. If everyone are doing like me, surely the company bankrupt.. haha

RM1 spending = 1 point ---> This is what you deserve to earn. In order to get TPs worth RM70, you need to spend about RM15k. I don't think you can say you make a lot from cc. If the card gives you more than 1x point for each RM1 spent or gives you cash rebates on top of the reward points, then it could be a different story.
