I've been using maybank visa for about 5/6 months already. Total interest paid was about rm25, and total i gain from treatpoints, the value was about rm70. That means i've profited rm70-rm25 = rm45 by using a credit card. If everyone are doing like me, surely the company bankrupt.. haha

QUOTE(winner @ Dec 23 2009, 08:57 PM) RM1 spending = 1 point ---> This is what you deserve to earn. In order to get TPs worth RM70, you need to spend about RM15k. I don't think you can say you make a lot from cc. If the card gives you more than 1x point for each RM1 spent or gives you cash rebates on top of the reward points, then it could be a different story. Well, my point is, instead of buying the thing with cash, use credit card to pay it. And make sure you pay it back on time. Must have a good discipline. Like in my case, it's easy to pay. As i'm using Maybank's CC and also my salary is in Maybank, i'll just use m2u to pay with just a click of a mouse.

QUOTE(winner @ Dec 23 2009, 09:16 PM) Eh...paying RM25 interest to bank = DISCIPLINE. First time I hear this. Yeah, paid only RM25 to the bank and gained RM70 back. Profit of Rm45.

QUOTE(winner @ Dec 23 2009, 10:12 PM) If you pay in full on time, you should have saved the RM25 interest. We have been talking about this many times. For existing cards, service tax will be charged on anniversary date. It looks like you were not paying attention. QUOTE(Gen-X @ Dec 23 2009, 10:43 PM) well, go apply for CIMB or DA and get 0% BT for 6 months. The longer she waits the more interest she pays. Well if you paid full you would have been rewarded RM70 instead of RM45 So in actual fact you lose RM25 lah. The bank happier to have customer like you you sure boh? Its the law that you have to pay RM50 next year for each principal credit card. This hazairi reasoning and comments usually are mind bongling i.e like he said bank will go bankrupt; whereas in actual fact he's making money for the bank. The point is, though I lost about RM25 for the total interest of 5-6 months, I got back RM70 from the treatpoints and that means I'm profiting from the bank. They have to pay me RM70, that means I profited RM45 from them.
