Guys, the line capping is done by TM or their technician thru the DSLAM?

I asked the technician who came over to check my line status and he told me it is all done by KL, he cannot set it for me.

Is this true??

The capping is done centrally .. this capping is on your account. Another one at exchange/DSLAM side .. it is not actually capping but they could put your at higher port (or they might be able to change the port speed???). You need both to get > 4Mbps..

Upgraded mine 3 days ago. Speed seem to be stable for now, but IP still at 115. From Kuching.

Yeah, what I mean is the port capping, the speed which you can see from your modem ADSL status.

Contractor or TM?

How did you managed to convinced them to upgrade your port to 5mbps?

I have existing report with them since 1 weeks ago. After you got the premium IP 218 tag on your account and you still experience slow speed, you can try to request for it.

I just upgraded from 1Mbps to 2Mbps... and my port is capped at 2047/508, getting this speedtest result:

However, before the upgrade I am already getting the same kind of speed. So to me, there's no improvement at all. How can I convince them to increase my port speed?

Call 100 and then ask them transfer your call to ATS department if you have an existing report.

Hmm weird streamyx

218.111 to the same server now 250kb/sec

115.xxx to the same server 550 kb/sec

I guess this premium IP routing is kinda FAKAP . I will not call and ask them to upgrade or change my IP

How nice you want it to be? smile.gif I'm too nice, I let them have my password and for them to test the speed at the exchange.. but they kept telling me that they only have 4Mbps port and can't do much about it. I'm yet to raise my voice with any of them yet .. playing nice now .. hehe.. but why others could get the 5120 kbps port and not me? Why even Dozz in KK can get it but not me at Sg Buloh, a stone throw from KL? Is the tech just trying to play hard? I'll surely won't let them close the report until I get the speed like the rest of you .. and playing nice at the same time smile.gif

LOL so FAKAP ip does mean something to your routing

Don't compare your connection to speedtest to Malaysia server go to Europe or USA

That is the speed that i mean. Local server is useless and FAKAP

If you not happy with what you get, can you call 100 and make a report. Who know they might able to do something for you?

Just wait and wait. Trust me , I waited a long time before getting capped at 5Mbps. My reasons were simple

I'll play nice if you give me sufficient bandwidth and I promise not to go overboard. Once you get capped at 5Mbps , you will be getting full 4Mbps ! (4.2Mbps)

erm....guys correct me if im wrong...regarding da DSL status indicate at your modem is,how fast your line can be achive.
my DSL indicate i got
Status: Up
Downstream Rate: 1024 kbps
Upstream Rate: 512 kbps

which is means my line could achive 1mb package speed, but since i subsribe to 512kbps package so im getting half of teh 1mbps speed.

in your case your downstream is 7163kbps...which is means your line can achive 7mbps,but so far tm fastest package is only 4mbps.
