Your line can go up to 4Mbps no problem .. currently set at 2Mbps with high SNR & low attenuation (which is excellent) .. what package are you on at the moment?

I'm at 512kb. RM66 per month. smile.gif

Like I've said before, if you can, try to "borrow" a friend's 1Mb account to test. I think you should get good speeds, maybe like those getting 1.1-1.3Mb. You can even try with a 2Mb account to compare results. If you upgrade, let us know the results after that.
*
Great. I've applied to upgrade to 1Mb. Will let you know the result.

Thanks.

Since you're connected at 2mbps but using a 512kbps account then you're stuck at 512kbps. But the good news is, once u upgrade to 1mbps, it's very possible that u get the full 2mbps instead. Same case happen to some of my frens who're now enjoying 2mbps speed but pays at 1mbps rate. rclxms.gif

Lets hope so. smile.gif

Thanks.

You must have a phone line with a active Streamyx account. Your friend must have a phone line with an active Streamyx account. Then you can try your friend's Streamyx account using your phone line.

I think 2 things u need to make sure on your (user) side first.

A = Streamyx phone line # is capped till what speed both DL and UL; this can be checked at the user modem/router web config main page;

B = Streamyx Account login ID is registered under what speed.

If your A > B == Full Speed + (lucky)Overcapped Speed;
A <= B == Normal / No Full Speed.

Just from my TM streamyx experience. 2 same IDs can't online at the same time simultaneously at 2 different (streamyx)phone lines.

Normal la. They are boss, you are slave, this is what in their mind. I really hope more competitor come in to fight and make it like telcos market, where everyone afford to register for line, and able to discontinue it anytime like prepaid.

There are two stages of capping .. one is done at the physical level (exchange) which is the speed of the port you're connected to. the second one is at the tm server level where they'll cap based on the account you subscribing to.

To get to the advertised speed, TM will put you into a port with higher speed.. ie. If you're subscribing to 1Mbps .. if they cap you at exchange at 1Mbps, you won't get the real 1Mbps speed due to some overhead. So, they'll usually put you into 2Mbps port.. this does not mean you'll get 2Mbps download .. this mean, between the exchange and your modem .. you should get 2Mbps.

At the server end, since you're subscrbing to 1Mbps, they'll cap your account at 1.5Mbps .. reason is still as above, to get full speed and avoid some overhead and customer complaining of not getting the real 1Mbps..

I guess you need to call up the tmpoint you're registered to or 100 and get the technician phone number. I've never trust tmpoint/100 appointment .. usually missed them and sometime the techie will call you at unsuitable time (ie. when you're out of the house).

tm contractors does not virtually worked under tm. they are from other companies hired by tm which is why they suck (coz they never care about the customer & only care about the pay). right now, TM is trying to train their staff so that all the contractors doesn't need to be outsourced.

Their contractors are useless. The latest upgrade promo to 2 or 4 Mbps comes with a free modem, but the contractor assigned to my case kept denying that fact when I applied to upgrade to 4 Mbps. Showed him the T&C on TM's website and he still didn't believe me! I had to make several trips back to TMPoint just to claim the modem. As for the 14-day warranty by the contractor, it's pure BS. They didn't even bother to call back to follow up on my case.
