Actually, one customer support told me that you can go from Standard 512K to Combo 512K (RM90), then upgrade to Combo 1M (RM95).  But it comes to almost the same where Standard 1M (RM71) + phone line = RM96. You can call and check if this is really possible or not.

But does the RM77 go back to RM88 after 12 / 24 months contract?

Added on December 26, 2009, 3:20 pm

This is why everyone should complain about it. Maybe TM will reduce all prices for other users next year. They would have "caught" upgrading users with the 24 month contract by then. Maybe 4M users will have a good deal to upgrade to HSBB in the future.

No, RM71 will last forever because TM Net already agree and MCMC noted...

After having my Streamyx problem for a week, today finally a technician came and corrected the downstream cap which was being placed wrongly after they replaced the port hardware.

Initially was on 1.5mbps (RM88) but now when I checked the modem, already 2mbps. Next see the bill if still RM88, then I get free upgrade.

I wasn't referring to the Super Upgrade deals. I was replying to joellim who mentioned the merdeka promotions 2009, and super holiday savers plan 2007 for RM77.

For the Super Upgrade deals, it is already clearly stated that the prices are fixed even after 24 months contract.

Nah, what is the Merdeka Promotions 2009 terms and conditions?

Perhaps joellim can get RM71 a month instead RM77 a month with that promotions...

ur is RM77 ? but i thought its 512kbps ? how come is 1mbps ?

if u having standard pakej , speed of 512kbps , u  r not entitled to having upgrade to combo offer . its stated in their duno t & c or frequent ask question .

but if u r rm88 with speed of 1mbps , u  r entitled . but there are more procedur to it . standard migrate to combo rm 110 then upgrade super deal 2mbps 120 .

that if u r 1mbps .
*
mine is RM77 1mbps, it was 384kbps free upgrade -> 512kbps @ rm66 -> 1mbps @ rm77.
my monthy payment is 1mbps @ rm77 + tel rental @ rm26 = rm103, not sure if i could upgrade to 2mbps combo since mine is not a combo package hmm.gif

This seems to be another issue which is unfair for this Super Upgrade deals. Some older 512K users have 1024 ports and will only get 0.8M speeds when upgrading to 1M. Some newer 512K / 1M users have 2048 ports and some have their accounts capped higher and can get 1.1-1.3M speeds. Same package with different results.

Yup ask them to upgrade your line port is the only way...
It will only be fast if u able to contact the TM technician that handle your area's TM streamyx service.

Actually, they will say that you are getting 80% so its ok. Of course, if the disconnections are due to a faulty port, they wil change it. But they can actually just set you back to 1024 again and not necessarily higher.

Even if the technical people set you to a higher port speed, it will still depend on your acount cap. That's why the acount cap was introduced in the first place, ie to avoid users asking technical people directly to set a higher port speed.

It seems that TM may be periodically resettting account caps back to normal so you may find your speeds drop back down irrespective of your port setting. has anyone experienced this situation?

For customers subscribing to lower speed packages (384kbps or 512kbps), only lateral speed upgrade are allowed.( E.g. Streamyx Standard packages with modem to Streamyx Standard packages with modem, Streamyx Combo to Streamyx Combo, Wifi@Home to Wifi@Home)

its stated . IF u r 384 or 512 standard pakej . u can only upgrade to super deal with standard pakej to standard pakej . No special offer if u want to migrate to combo offer . U can migrate to Combo . but u r paying non offer price . which is RM90 for 512 . RM110 for 1 mb . RM140 for 2 mb . RM160 for 4 mb . its term n condition apply . there is no argue on that .

ic . have u sign up as streamyx user more than a year ? then u should be able to upgrade thought this promotion to 2 mb combo .
1 mb standard can upgrade to 2 mb combo . with some arguement of course . else u cant upgrade to it . as what i gone through .
But if i were u , i would stay there . RM103 for 1 mb ..... not bad . becoz i paid rm88 + rm 26 = rm 114 . that's why i go to 2 mb combo .

If you read carefully what I wrote about what the customer service told me...

It is NOT going from Standard 512 to Super Upgrade Combo 512...

It is going from Standard 512 to "normal" Combo 512 first (RM90) like any new user gets.

Then since you have been a Streamyx customer for more than one year, you can go from the "normal" Combo 512 to the Super Upgrade Combo 1M.

Your point is correct according to the terms you show above. But the case I was pointing out is not a direct Super Upgrade. It is more like switching packages first (which should be allowed), then doing an upgrade (which should be allowed if you are a Streamyx customer for over a year). The terms does not cover this method.

That is what the customer service told me. Of course, as I have said before, different customer service will tell you different things. So check it first.

Just because no one has tried does not mean you cannot. Call 100 and give it a try. I am in the process of finding out whether this can be possible. But I am not sure about the point of TM periodically resetting the accounts.
