I think if you could re-phrase your English , you might sound less confusing . Can anyone type in clear proper sentences anymore ?

If you want to know if you could stream youtube on blackberry over Digi RM58 DG smart plan , yes , you could . Options - Advanced Options - TCP/IP , fill in APN name as "digistrm" without quotes.

Regards to are you able to load up cimbclick and maybank2u in Blackberry , in my experienced i've tried BOLT and Operamini 4.2 browsers for maybank2u , you could login to browse your account balances etc, however, i wasn't able to perform an online fund transfer. When i requested for TAC, i was brought to a page that confirms the TAC will be sent to 016xxxxxxx, on the exit of this page ( by clicking "closing this window" , or back button ) , the session will expire. The purpose of the TAC is to use it in the same login session, so if i were to re-login and reload to the transaction page again, the requested TAC would've already been invalid.

Guys confirm this with Digi:
What I understand from them is, if you change the APN to anything other than blackberry.net, there would be PAYU (Pay As You Use) charges because you are off the Blackberry server. There would be charges even when your APN is Diginet. So, if you are on the Blackberry Plan, don't fool around with the APN unless you want to pay more.

no need to set the authentication.. only tick the APN Settings

where do we tick the setting?

i only see under TCP

APN:
Username for APN:
Password for APN:

How do make sure browser is using APN?
Option -> Advance -> Browser -> Default -> Internet Browser

Open browser -> options -> browser configuration -> Internet Browser (somehow it changed back to DIGI WAP)

Any idea? need help, thanks in advance. BTW I left the APN empty.

FYI while using celcom 'unlimited usage' plan, I never set the APN. so when i read about it here, it makes me panic.. i dont want to pay more sad.gif

What I remember Digi staff telling me was, either leave the APN blank or key-in blackberry.net

Does anyone know if the bb service is EDGE only or 3G also? Anyone using Bold with the service??
*
I am a Bold user. 3G or EDGE depends on the area you use the smartphone. 3G coverage in certain parts of Shah Alam or Klang quite patchy. Other areas, I'm not sure.

Instead i received this!

DiGi
There is an issue with your switch to DiGi caused by your current service provider. DiGi Customer service will contact you shortly to resolve this.

OMG!! I hate to wait and now i received this message! WAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!  cry.gif

[Edited] I called both DiGi and Maxis. DiGi Customer Service said that my ic number is not same as my maxis number. And I called Maxis, she said that my number been registered under my mom's ic (since before I migrated back to prepaid). Should be, if I migrated back to prepaid, they will ask my ic, instead they asked my mom ic.

Now I have to go back to Maxis center at KLCC and change owner's name. WTF!

Now I hate maxis even more!
*
i encounter exactly the same issue.. my application to port in to digi was rejected because my simcard is registered under my mom's name..
maxis wont let me to port out even i can provide all the necessary details
now i have to go back to my hometown which is so far away from KL just to change the ownership

IMHO it's the same with all Telcos because they are all using the Blackberry server. Once you use any other server, you pay for it!

Thx, where did you buy / download the BOLT Browser? Is freeware / shareware / payware? Did you have to meddle with the TCP/IP or APN to get the app running?

My Digi smart plan was activated earlier this month and my current unbilled amount is approx RM18. I've been using my BB everyday for chatting, surfing web, etc but absolutely no tethering. Also, I've left the APN settings as the default for T-Mobile on my BB Bold 9000 (didn't change to blackberry.net).

I'm wondering what are the differences in their BB setup or account for those who hv reported being billed for GPRS, PAYU, etc

Hi techgirl, my Digi smart plan is having the same behavior as well. I don't perform tethering or connect to PC at all.

I guess Digi Customer Support still new with Blackberry service, thus I received pretty different information whenever I call them.

a) First called and asked about the unbilled amount, CS1 said, no extra charges on internet usage, as long as I am using the Blackberry device. However, they can not see my unbilled bill until the bill is out. But said it should be able to waive it once I call back when I received my bill. whistling.gif

b) When bill is out, amount is RM52.90 for GPRS, which minus some unexplainable charges rebate for Blackberry RM 9.67 and DATA PAYU Tier 1 RM4.58, so all in all I am still need to pay additional RM38.65 for GPRS. Which after a call to CS, they said again they will try to waive it. thumbup.gif

c) Recently, notice again the unbilled transaction is on the rise although i seldom make calls. Call back Digi CS, same reply as (a) whistling.gif

d) Tried D'chat instead, the CS2 said nothing need to be configured on the Blackberry, it should be automaticly configured. But later when I asked about the APN settings, this round the CS replied APN should be set as "blackberry.net". When I asked what is the different if I don't set it, he takes about 4 minutes to ask me to wait and say he will escalate it for further clarifications. nod.gif

I am pretty happy with the Blackberry service overall but looks like subscriber like us may need to "escalate" this issue if persist. At least help Digi to firm up their configuration needed on Blackberry to avoid unnecessary charges to subscriber. If this issue persisted, it rather looks like Digi is cheating consumer money by tricks(no informing customer on correct configuration). Paying BB services but still get to pay additional GPRS. shakehead.gif

Hi xtrail,

Thanks 4 ur reply.

I received my 1st bill (pro-rated) a few days back. There's a column called GPRS Unlimited with the amount of data downloaded/used but the monetary value is shown as zero.

I'll drop by one of the Digi centres to check out the APN settings.

RM50.27 for unlimited BIS with digi?

So if I use the voice call + SMS = RM10 for example

and the total bill of the month = RM60.27?

From the bill of mikelanding, no subscription fee? monthly commitment fee?

Should be RM58 but since its pro-rated (less than 30days) hence the RM50.27 charge.

You need to be a new customer ie new number in order to subscribe to the Digi Smart Plan. If you are an existing customer you will need to add Digi 30 or Digi 50 to your plan.

Just to share this, I'm an existing customer for DiGi for more than 10 years, currently with DiGi 50 Family Plan, 5 suppline. I can change to DiGi Smart Plan directly, don't need to get any extra call plan unless you want to use call plan and smart plan as data plan. (eg: DG50 + DG58).

My BB service activated yesterday, I got a message saying that my handheld has been registered with the wireless network, edge changed to EDGE, setup everything via website and I got another message, welcome to DiGi BlackBerry.

Got excited and start using non-stop since there isn't much thing to do in the office, go check my balance, found out got charge around RM40, go online check with D'Chat, APN settings must be blackberry.net else will get charge, told them by default it is already blackberry.net, to be confirm, I delete the settings and enter it again, save it, reset the phone and continue using it. Went home check balance again, it goes up to RM60+ already, online and check with D'Chat again, told me no other settings need to be change, just APN must be blackberry.net, not diginet or empty.

My issue already reported to the bill department according to D'Chat, they will revert back to me in 24 hours time, will keep you guys posted.
