1. Yes. It is simple. With below step
a. Go to digi store and sign up the package. Get the simcard and wait for line activation. Mine was activate around 4 hours.
b. Once Digi activated. Call up Maxis and told them U want to terminate your BIS package. IMPORTANT: Ask them to release your device PIN too. The pro-rated bill will be settle later on.
c. Once b complete. Put your digi simcard. Go into email setting and set them up.

2. No need to go digi BIS website. Email setting can done from BB

3. The most important thing here is ASK MAXIS TO RELEASE DEVICE PIN when U terminate their BIS.

Hope this help. smile.gif

Bro,

I switched to Digi from Celcom. I have changed to Digi sim card after I got the sms. BTW I can sms using on Digi network however BIS is not activated yet.
Then I called Celcom to terminate my BIS, according to them it will take 2-24hrs.

Do I need to call Digi and ask them to activate my BIS; now or wait after 24hrs (not sure if Celcom will sms on BIS termination status)?

Thanks in advance

You dont actually need to wait for Celcom to terminate your BIS.

In this case, just call up Digi to speed up the BIS activation. Pop in your digi simcard and start enjoying the BIS features

From my experience of terminating my Celcom XPAX prepaid BIS , simply doing the "call Celcom to release my BIS PIN" doesn't effing work. They insisted on getting my butt to one of their Celcom centres ( not dealer shops! ) , in my case was Menara PKNS in PJ , to physically sign a friggin' form to indicate "Celcom, please release my blackberry PIN" . In the form, the counter agent will record down your Blackberry PIN and IMEI. From then on, wait 2-24 hours.

While you're waiting for 2-24hours , if you insert your DiGi sim card into your berry , you should have reasonable signal bar value , and the network type would be in lowercase . Example "edge" , or "3g" . In this situation , you should be able to make calls and sms, but you will not have DiGi BIS ready. You could also surf the net using the Blackberry browser in WAP mode instead of through BIS. If you're doing this WAP browsing, charges will be applied and itemised in your unbilled view / billed statement. However, at the point of your monthly statement is being released, you can call up DiGi to waive this WAP usage.

In my case, the after 3 or 4 hours, BIS has been released by Celcom and DiGi's BIS was activated automatically ( i did not need to call up DiGi to activate it , or neither do i need to set something else in my phone) . At this point , you shall see uppercase letters like "EDGE" , and "3G" instead of lowercase.

Instead i received this!

DiGi
There is an issue with your switch to DiGi caused by your current service provider. DiGi Customer service will contact you shortly to resolve this.

OMG!! I hate to wait and now i received this message! WAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! cry.gif

[Edited] I called both DiGi and Maxis. DiGi Customer Service said that my ic number is not same as my maxis number. And I called Maxis, she said that my number been registered under my mom's ic (since before I migrated back to prepaid). Should be, if I migrated back to prepaid, they will ask my ic, instead they asked my mom ic.

Now I have to go back to Maxis center at KLCC and change owner's name. WTF!

Now I hate maxis even more!

U have to add the BB plan...its RM58 per mth for Blackberry Internet Service (BIS), without BIS ur BB is only a normal phone > can only Make Calls & SMS (THATS IT)...nothing else..thats why u need BIS for Blackberrys. Thats the difference between normal phones & Blackberrys. Once BIS is activated, u can go online, use ur browser, push mails, chats & facebook, etc.  smile.gif

I'm a existing DIGI customer too for long time, I too have sign up for BB BIS plan @ RM58 per mth (Data Unlimited > unlimited usage, leave it on for 24/7, connect to your lappie as a modem if u want to also can)

In another word, YES u have to add BB plan as its part of the package! Dont think u'll be able to just buy the phone @ the offer price..also be remember DIGI BB BIS Plan has no contract, no commitment or whatsoever..thats what DIGI told me..

Call 016-2211800 for further info!

On the connecting your blackberry to your laptop as a modem, I suggest u counter-check with Digi. I remember talking to Digi and they told me that I would be charge PAYU (Pay As You Use) for doing that. The reason being I would be off the Blackberry server and on the Diginet server where there would be charges for Blackberry users. Please confirm with Digi whether I am right.
