Can fill almost 4 compartments, I only have 77 PS2 games and it takes 2 compartments + 1 extra left out, so 1 compartment = 38 DVD cases

Does it make a difference if component cable is used for PS1?
I can't tell so just wanna ask. Also some of you may have the GC component cable, does it make any difference to ALL GC games, or only a handful? (I don't hv the cable) I tried playing GC games on Wii using component cable but hardly noticed any difference. But my eyesight is very bad. |

Couldn't find an unmodded 360. Then couldn't find PS2 that can play PS1 games. Then no games received today. gnsumas! where to find US 20GB PS3? |

not that i dowan to post.. but all my retro consoles/games are boxed and kept in cabinet...
even my wii and ps3 are boxed and kept to ensure tidiness in my living room~I will post some 360 setup and games tonight |

ok ok.. Some pictures took - 1) Some of the stuffs that are not in boxes. 
2) About half of my GC (U/C) RE collection. 
3) Misc titles (mainly for sale) 
4) Open my PS1 shoebox for some fresh air, my last PS1 that's alive 
5) Current setup for my 360 Elite, 37" Sharp LCD and Enzo PC speakers 
6) Close shot of Elite. Spent most of my free time with it for past few days. 
7) Black GC (U/C) no box, so keep in bag 
8) Wii hidden under my daughter's crib 
9) Indigo GC (U/C) also no box 
10) My 21" local TV for Retro gaming. As seen no consoles are attached since no time to do retro gaming. 
Will post more PS1/PS2 games next week when I received a few more titles then I will open the box to keep them and take picture too. |

Just thought I'd share some pics i took of this retro gamers shop i went to while I was in Bangkok. The store is actually in this shopping mall called MBK quite close to the top floor. Thought it was pretty cool hence the photo album
 Shop front is actually 2 stalls wide. They have a SF3 arcade machine there. Ace was the first shop I asked actually, they have a "stack" of ps1 but all are not functioning, Ah Hin only keeps it for spare part purpose.
I still have a fat one, but of course not for sale change sex so easier to get people to sell ps1 to me.... |

I remember I got my FFX (Jp international version) from Yes Asia (becoz it was cheaper than PA). It contains the Dark Aeons add on. However after playing I noticed that this version had a bug and sold it. Then I bought the GH US version from PA.
FF12 I got from PA too. |

I saw one shop in Funan mall (near City Hall MRT) got a lot of PS2 CE games

Seeing the Christmas season is coming I would say it will take a little longer than usual to arrive (with 2 weeks being usual), if at all. The customs/post office seems a little broke recently, having to steal parcels from us.. at least it has happened to me quite often recently but luckily PA offered refunds on all occasions

Report back from SG.
Was busy most of the time so only managed to walk around in Plaza Singapura. Found 2 games shops there, new games are priced slightly above what we can get from LYN sellers. There is one shop with a handful of PS2 (Jap) titles selling at SGD5 each. I only recognised one game which is popolacrois. Besides that.. didn't have a chance to go cash converters or other thrift shops. |

My experience was 6+3 weeks of investigation.
First, they will ask you to wait 6 weeks. After that they will say they need time to investigate , another 3 weeks. Then they will ask you whether you prefer reshipment or refund via store credit. Reshipment is once only, if lost again, you eat yourself. |

Managed to jalan jalan a while tonight in 188 Oriental shopping and 298 computer center in Wan Chai, HK.
Well 298 computer center mostly sell computers and stuff (AV ) so can leave this 188 Oriental shopping sell games and stuffs as well (AV , figurine, gashopan, repackaged gashopan, etc.. ). Retro wise only found a shop selling loose cart (snes, FC, N64) for around HKD 50 to 100. A few sell second hand and new PS2 games and old Xbox, a few Jap GC, not too much picking. Anyhow I got this ( I know is not retro but the game is around for 20+ years ) for HKD 250 Link opens treasure chest sound  |

Penang Toy R Us has a lot of these. IIRC they carry 3 types of different MD clones with them.
One is what Alex posted. The other one is also handheld and playable on TV. The other one is only a controller with built in games playable only on TV. I've found the type with controllers only twice before. But both times they're not exactly what I wanted. The 1st was a Street Fighter II Special Championship Edition. The package comes with 2 Megadrive controllers, and SFIISCE built in the controller. Although I had fond memories of the game, it's by no means the best version of SFIICE.
The 2nd version was a collection of Sonic 1-3 built in. Only 1 controller, so can't play Tails in Sonic 2 & 3. I haven't seen the MD Portable around Klang Valley so far. Has anyone? |

Just coming back from Alor Setar today.suprisingly there are shops that still selling retro stuffs. one at star parade and one more at city plaza.actually these shops were my favorite shops during my university years, 2000-2003 (UUM). as i remembered these shops selling various kinds of consoles back in the day. so i'm curious and expecting they are still selling some oldies since i assume there were not many gamers last time. i just bought wonderswan color for only rm150, new set.actually there are plenty unit of ws available.the shop also selling saturn gamepad(white),and the best thing is N64 pikachu edition, and many more. but i've no money left. after that, i proceed to city plaza and entering soo ming ent. i asked the tokey if he still keep the oldies and he said he still keep so many kind of oldies in his store somewhere. some of the console that he still keep are neo geo pocket color,snes,dc,gb.but the sad side, i do not have much time to visit his store

You should get the complete series, the one you have is Onee-chan Pon (vol 101). IIRC there were two or three vol. before this one, the 1st Onee-chan Bara, Onee-chan Puru and another which I forgot but definitely was an Onee-chan Bara title, all released as Simple 2500 series games. One of these days I will buy them, had one "saved for later" on my Play-Asia shopping cart for years.... |

None of the Sakura Wars games got translated. As much as I hate to admit it, it's SEGA's own damn fault. They thought people who spoke English had no interest in such games. Up until quite recently, dating sims never made it out of Japan (A certain type of game doesn't count). The game coming out next year is Sakura Taisen V - Saraba Itoshiki Hito Yo. It's not even going to be published by SEGA, but Nippon Ichi!
This is my least favourite of the Sakura Wars titles. Although most anime/game characters are very cliched these days, I felt the original character designs by Fujishima Kousuke were very well designed (for its time). Sakura Taisen V is just... meh to me. I thought that Sakura Taisen wrapped up nicely in Sakura Taisen IV (it's a bit sad letting go though), but apparently some fans missed it, enough to demand for a sequel. Then SEGA went ahead and re-released the 1st two Sakura Taisen games on PSP... and ignored English-speaking fans yet again! In all likelihood though, the payoff might not be big, even though fans (supposedly) keep wanting a translated Sakura Taisen game. Well, let's see how it does come next year... |

I remember playing a Sakura wars game chinese version on PS2. But couldn't remember how was it like. Really long ago.
Anyway report back from Alor Setar. Went to City Plaza and found 2 game shops there. Forgot the names but there are near escalators and are opposite to each other. One of the shops have 2-3 PS1 slim units (used but the box is quite new). Problem is they are selling at RM299 each (used!) So I didn't buy any. Browse a bit of the shop but didn't really find anything interesting. The other shop had a fat PS1 on display but its not for sale. They don't have anymore PS1. As we arrived in AS pretty late, didn't managed to go to other malls. So, no results for the game/console hunting~ sigh. |

my method of playing PS1 games on PS2 "fat" is :
-eject the dvd tray, put in PS1 game -press & hold power button until the tray is fully closed and the power indicator light turned red color -release and hold the power button again until the power indicator light turned greed color, wait for the game to load, this works for most of my PS1 games. |

Yes, it's a third party product which is quite cheap and easy to get. However I don't think there's a single PS1 games that make uses of this, unlike Saturn that has few games using MPEG card feature. Net yaroze is actually just a region-free PS1. Not much different if you already have a modded PS1 console. You can connect it (or also normal PS1) with extra data cables to PC for simple programming (like game basic). My discovery over the weekend.
Sadly my PAL DC sold already, can't seem to get Shen Mue and Sega Rally to work on my Jap DC with utopia disc ~ both just stop around 97%DOA fared badly as well as half of the screen is cut of from the TV. Soul Caliber work perfectly. FC Mike Tyson Punch out and SFC (PAL) Super Mario World to top up the whole search.  |

Btw, is there any shop selling genuine retro consoles? I find it hard to find that old school Nintendo. I miss playing Mario!

For some reason I don't like Treasure shmups as much.. Samurai Spirits RPG   Street Fighter Zero 3   Rockman X3, close up  Soul Hackers, The reason I take this pic is because of the red color Japanese words. It's a common knowledge the most difficult color to input and output precisely is red color, so if you could see very great details within red it is a pass. You can also see less scanlines from this pic because it's running on 480i instead of 240p.  Christmas Nights  Cotton 2, this is how normally a game looks like when running on aspect ratio. The side bars are understandable since it's a 16:10 monitor, but the top and bottom bars are quite significant because the resolution of this game is way below 240p, in fact one of the lowest I ever played. It's very common for games to have resolution below 480i/240p  Battle Garegga, this is how a full screen 240p game will look like, tated, on a 16:10 monitor  |
