I not too familiar with those up scale scan converter (XRGB, etc) .. anyone care to enlighten me ? smile.gif

The XRGB is to convert component/ composite to RGB input (for PC monitor) ?

I am looking for the opposite solutions where RGB input (PC monitor) to normal composite or component to hook up my TV (old big TV) as a media center or emulator center smile.gif

Main purpose of XRGB is to convert 240p/480i signal through composite/S-Video/RGB/Component/D-Terminal to RGBs (VGA) beautifully. Cheap converters can also do the job, but with lots of compromise.

I wouldn't recommend you any solution zhuge because that's asking to pay more for a worse solution than what you already have. Might as well save up the money to get a bigger/better monitor/TV.

Hmmmm.

So this means if you cannot afford RGB, the next best thing is S-Video for retro stuff?

What about Dreamcast? I know not all games support VGA Box, but this is the best solution right? Anyone know where to buy an Original VGA Box?

Yeah S-Video is the next best thing after VGA/component/RGB on retros.

DC is no different, but some games can be very picky on VGA/RGB, like Gigawing UC only support VGA mode, which makes the game look terrible and no RGB support.

I have no idea where to get official VGA boxes as I'm using a third party blush.gif

True, because they have to go through (very terrible) deinterlacing process first, rescaling then display out. The result is input lag and terrible image. Get some good external devices to help out the TV processor in order to get better image.
