last time i also liddat... but that time playing FF VII, and i named Aeris character with my GF's name.

at 1st i also tot wanna buy a new female glider n name her after my gf but i couldn't do it cuz i'm getting a male n name him after my fav nick wit a jr. behind as he's noti jus like me~ laugh.gif

how many of u using better quality spark plug (e.g. platinum, iridium, etc)

does it really give a good result or even worse ??

i use the smaller size punya spark plug..iridium..end up..spark plug full of black oil -.- too small..

sudah wipe car with water heheheh

i use normal ngk copper side-gapped plugs thumbup.gif (by sifu katak)... change when required ... since its not that expensive also ma ...

im selling 4g15 engine with fully mod...with hi cam rm2000...no hi cam rm1500...can test the engine...

today went fix my exhaust .... how i wish Ipoh were like Setapak exhaust shop every where ... damn ..
went to this one shop, checked and confirmed muffler gone case ... then i changed a straight flow muffler RM250 ... and now damn regret coz faarking noisy la ....
how to reduce the noise? ...
the uncle told me my bullet too short (around 12") ... he say need to have a combination with a 18" long spiral bullet to reduce noise .. is it true ah? .. the 18" long spiral bullet by Panther Rm150 ... really will help reduce noise de ma? ... icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

Dear all,

let me brief my my car a bit

P. Wira 1.5 Year 2001. ( AUto) 4G15. Aeroback
Milleage agak - agak ( 200K km) as in mid 150K era, my speedometer cable spoilt include meter, so take some time t replace, a new meter installed ( current reading is abt 25K)

Problems so far ( 8 years):

1. Power windows ( benn chnaging more than 5 times)

2. Central locking ( Changing 3-4 times), different issue, lock no power to coem out, auto lock no matter how u opne it, ....) Finally chnage to a recon parts from 90s, then ok until now ( abt 4 years)

3. Water go into rear bonet area and under my car body. Whole inner under carpet is wet. Water from rear parts rubber lining. Spare tyre area flooded. Change a new rubber. problem solved until now.

4. One time, timing broken in middle road, milleage is 15K . Argue with mech bawah pokok, he no compensate to my lost. Never trust mech like that. Luckily, not much damage but cost me abit abt 1k plus, as to repair teh valve.

5.All other is normal wear and tears. DO regular service is to keep the car in good condition. Been usign Fully syn since day one until this year. CHanging to semi.Just weird that i cannot use Shell Helix Ultra. ENgine oil evaporate fast. Other brand no issue.

6. Just change oil seals last week as oil leaking. The LOW OIL PRESSure light out in dash board. Change ATF also. and Gasket too.


7. FC , on new car is much better compare now. in year 2001-2002, can reach 500Km in highway easily , and 400++ in city driving. Now, is abt 360km the warning light come out. Average 380-400 for one full tank ( 38-40ltrs)




MODIFICATION

Really not much.

1. Change rim to 14" from 13"

2. Grouding.

3. VS.

4. Cyclone , micro compressor, e-Power, ( all this not much effect to car power and FC) Just wasted my money .

5. Projector type head lights.



Few question here:

1. I think my ECU still under MMC( mid 2001 only all batch change to VDO). should i go to remapping or reset my ECU?If yes, where to go?

2. my 3rd brake light ( LED type) at the spoiler. Only few left still got lights. HOw do we change it? by LED? change whole LED panel? or change whole spoiler?

1. MMC ecu reset very easy ... just disconnect ur Negative(-) terminal for around 5 mins then put it back ... u can also slowly fine tune it urself at the screw there ... Do clean ur Throttle Body also ...
About ur FC, maybe ur injectors clog? change or take laser cleaning.. or maybe u can try a few aftermarket injector cleaner (not sure about the effect) ...

2. just bring to any accessory shop and they will know wat to do gua ...

ya i use the long spiral bullet to reduce the sound.... very cun... when accelerate > 3k rpm only it scream... notworthy.gif

3. Water go into rear bonet area and under my car body.  Whole  inner under carpet is wet. Water from rear parts rubber lining. Spare tyre area flooded.  Change a new rubber. problem solved until now.

4. One time, timing  broken in middle road, milleage is 15K . Argue with mech bawah pokok, he  no compensate to my lost. Never trust mech like that. Luckily, not much damage  but cost me abit abt 1k plus, as to repair teh valve.

5.All other is normal wear and tears. DO regular service is to keep  the car in good condition. Been usign Fully syn since day one until this year. CHanging to semi.Just weird that i cannot use Shell Helix Ultra. ENgine oil evaporate fast. Other brand no issue.

6. Just  change oil seals last week as oil leaking. The LOW OIL PRESSure light out in dash board. Change ATF also. and Gasket too.
7. FC  , on new car is much better compare now. in year 2001-2002, can reach 500Km in highway easily , and 400++ in city driving. Now, is abt 360km the warning light come out. Average 380-400 for one full tank ( 38-40ltrs)
MODIFICATION

Really not much.

1. Change rim to 14" from 13"

2. Grouding.

3. VS.

4. Cyclone , micro compressor, e-Power, ( all this not much effect to car power and FC) Just wasted my money .

5. Projector type  head lights.
Few question here:

1. I think my ECU still under MMC( mid 2001 only all  batch change to VDO).  should i go to remapping or reset my ECU?If yes, where to go?

2. my 3rd brake light ( LED type) at the spoiler. Only few left still got lights. HOw do we change it? by LED? change whole LED panel? or change whole spoiler?

if urs is injection, i heard ppl said can use warm water as well..
i decarbo my car once before...
can feel better at first, after few days,like normal already..

even injector cleaner as well...
but injector cleaner can clean ur fuel tank too

fuel enchance, no idea...
i think it is just like fuel booster or increase the fuel octane level..
but our car can use ron97, so wat for increase the octane when u r in stock condition..
maybe some heavily modded car need high octane for better result...

fuel regulator make the delivery of the fuel constant... like when high reving ur engine, of course fuel need to be injected fast enough to match it...
something like tat... i think oly can explain better...

err ... when u see white smoke ... try run ur finger through the exhaust tips, if its watery then most probably will be the weather ...
if its oily/greasy ... then better go find back ur mech ...
i think its mostly the weather la, esp to those who have removed the catcon ...

Just now went to the exhaust shop again ... the unker say don take out my 12" bullet and his solution is further down the piping add on another 15" spiral bullet, confirm will reduce noise ... but i rmb last time someone told me b4, 2 bullets on a single piping is no good ... is it correct? any comments guys?

err... my exhaust setup..
i remove the catcon, then change pipe putih piping, i only use 1 long spiral bullet, and muffler i use wira se muffler(straight flow)... notworthy.gif

make ur AFR rich...
beneficial if u had installed larger throttle body or highcams which allow more air into the engine...
remember, rich AFR does not mean more power... in fact lean AFR gives u better low end torque, but feels tight at high rpm due to insufficient fuel... lean AFR also reduces ur engine reliability....

yeah 1 fellar step on brake paddle, another check the brakes. So normally the foreman will tell u the step on the brakes and he kao tim the rest

high cam for 4G15, pipercam kasi taruk, cheap smile.gif

Oly, kasi maxed out 4G15 punya head kaw kaw. When the ban on used imported parts on June 2011 commence, guess we will stick to our stock engines even more now wink.gif

Dear all,

I driving a 2001 Proton wira 1.3 aeroback.

I have noticed my car always show the engine light and suddenly the engine will close automatically.

After restart the engine, Im unable to drive fast otherwise it will show the engine light again and switch off the engine automatically.

Coz im need to travelling along, im scared that my car will break down somewhere when travelling.

Any expert know this, I have send to repair few times, but still the same. Everytime the technician also connect the car to the computer and check it, but after few weeks, the same problem again. Every time they just simply do this, and they will charge me around RM100 eledi.

So, is difficult for me for long run, coz every month also need to send the car for repair. Really cannot tahan.

Any expert can help me? please....

Everytime u send to shop, did u ask wats the problem? ... the OBDII device surely will display an error msg one, telling us would be great help ...
Have u checked ur engine oil? .. is it at the required mark/level? ...
Did u change ur Speedometer or the whole meter recently? ...
Did u clean the TB b4?

most probably your ecu or sensor got problem. you didn't ask the technician what cause it and what can be done so that it won't occur again?

is the light come out after you drive fast but when you slow again it won't off?

maybe noob tat trying to say money go for dot3
which price different not much..
i using dot4 on my camry and done by sifu cheeann... wat i pay is wat i get and i m satisfied with it...

i think 98% of us here also using dot4 ... even my mom's merc which is almost 30yrs old also using dot4 ...

braking system is a very important system in the car ... minimal difference can cause a huge load ...

now currently the highest dot fluid is dot5.1 ... i read on the internet that its an upgrade from dot4 which is different from dot5... and good comments on it too ..

15years old go inspection is good la... puspakom make sure your car is safe to drive. they check brake and suspension for you... of coz... also check any illegal modification done by you la... kekekekeke brows.gif

mine is green reflective tint.. and somemore the color inside my car is also green and i suspect my window got some green base also.. maybe that makes it 'cant see thru'

aiya, it depends on the workers inside one, if u know sombody inside, he can pass the parts that u are not pass.
My fren just got inspection after convert engine in kl, all his tail light are with a layer of dark sticker, top tint of windscreen 10" also nothing, just need to take out the tinted.....depends ur luck i guess

what you described above is exactly why i'm so unhappy about the new NAP ruling "all cars above 15years old are required to go for yearly inspections..." mad.gif like creating opportunity for their cronies to ask for duit kopi.

dot5 u cant use just like that. its a totally different base compared to dot3/4.
as for dot5.1 its not meant for street cars. its for racing/heavy duty. which means u gotta change it regularly.
if u dont, it absorbs water vapor from air and can have a lower boiling point than dot4!
how regular before u change it? i have no idea, but our country is a highly humid place. go figure.

i bleed my brake fluid and now using totally clean dot4 ... old fluid were like cincau drink/crap .. now new one looks damn fresh ... i was the one pumping the brakes while cheeann bleed, train leg power .. laugh.gif

about myvi... depends which CC model la. dont tell me u lose to the 1.0L one wor...
anyway, myvi has a lighter chassis than our wira (myvi only around~ 900kg) but it feels heavy on the corners. maybe its the wheelbase also gua (not sure).

but sometimes abit too noisy esp revving up for speed ...

lose to 1.3cc le of course ... nowadays seldom see 1.0cc jor ... esp for my area, new meeveys and P stickers
due to their power/weight ratio thats y straight line start from 0 they r faster ... but they lose at top speed and corners, not forgetting about bumps ... their high speed feel floopy ...

we only smoked them in corners and bumps too.

Dont forget, if meevee do high speed braking, confirm gila the steering.....

plan to install HPPC with stromberg ...

not sure this kind of stuff can reduce my car fc significantly or not ...

cause the HPPC with stromberg is not cheap ... afraid of spending the money and gain nothing...

have you checked your tyre pressure recently?

many things not practical for a daily car... example, i cant afford to remove things like: aircond, headlamps, carpet, audio system, power windows, etc... all these i need lei wtf!
anyway, those also only remove few hundred grams only each. and i realize the cheapest, and biggest gain to reduce a car's weight is...

because i am worried is it the a/f ratio fuel is too rich ...

that plug i read got alot good comments ... even JH and sifu katak is using ...
it comes with grounding cables attached to the plugs .. which i think maybe help remove radio interference ...
but the cost very pricey la .. i am also tempted to buy .. if u got good price let me know also ...

did u calculate your distance between Ron95 vs 97 for the same amount of money?
ignore the quantity (Litres) but calculate if u pump RM50 for both petrol grade, what's your mileage?
i say tis coz, mine almost the same. so i continue using RON97 to keep my engine alive longer. nod.gif

valvoline? i bought halvoline woh... same mah??? halvoline from caltex. last i use on 4g15p is ok la.. engine sound good. dunno how will it perform on 4g93t. will let you guys know after i replace de oil!

fixed my rosak alarm siren! changed new siren le, smaller sized, sound different than original also. bought for rm15 nia, cheap cheap. but DIY install lor. installed it right behind the strut tower on driver side.

my cables become harden but still functioning .. just one of the head koyak, then my mech use rubber tape to tape it up ... now still working but i wan to change jor, preferably back to ori cables ...
i read from tictac's blog, he bought new ori cables at RM50 ... i am searching for 2nd used good ones to replace my current one..

high pitch sound? ... is it kraaakkk? ...i am not sure but for my mom's old car, this mostly happen after a coldstart so i deducted that its becoz the gear oil not warmed up yet, once after 10mins then no sound throughout the day ...

its normal le, coz ur clutch plate is spinning at the higher range ... u need to slow down till a certain speed only can engage 1st gear ... (not sure if i explained the correct way laugh.gif) ...

is there lightened cam pulley? as i know, cam pulley is already light..
as for crank pulley, get those lighten but still the same size..
those smaller size will have idle problem especially idling when aircond on

same for me, RM50 of RON97 or 95 giving almost the same mileage.
no doubt ROM50 for RON95 get more Litre, but in the end, same mileage doh.gif

i think, it's because of mechanical design of the gearbox. to prevent you from entering 1st gear when the tyre speed doesnt match your engine rev speed. i say this, because from gear 5 , and shift to 2, there isnt any prob (of coz with your clutch on). but on 2 to 1 (2 at high speed), we cant shift it in easily de.. unless you use force la.. or slow down the car until it feels light to shift in 1.

aiyo...sounds like heartbreaking (coz sayang car mah)
i dare not try. got few times, *almost* happened because i didnt push the gear stick all the way, i removed clutch pedal. luckily the gear still engaged smoothly tongue.gif

i manage to get good fc for petronas 97, but i need to finished it in 3 days...
about RM70 (rm1.80 per litter) i get around 450km included going up to genting and some high rev
but now my house car all also using shell as it is nearest to my house and also use ron95 for 1.5L and 2.0L car..
for 2.4L car, better use ron 97 as ron 95 u need to pedal alot to move the car

Mythology is Rubber Dampened.
Others like Jasma all those, are cheaper, but without rubber dampened. Not reli understand y there are huge difference bout the price.

IMO, reli got difference after installed that, as i drive my frens LMST the other day,
improvment can be feel at pickup, FC also. Since your car has lighthen already.

Talk about the "rev drop faster" review, i feel tat 1 dosen't affected after all.

masao, seems that ur bullet is quite long around 18" i think ... and ur exhaust still loud? ...
the unker that fitted in my muffler say adding 1 more 15" bullet to my current piping + 12" bullet will reduce 30% of the noise ... performance wise still not sure ...

maybe 1 day we need to record down the sound and compare also .. haha

methology is by maddriver right? ..

therefore the momentum will reduce...

but wat if other type of engine which using timing chain such as perdana?
will they need dampened type as well?

Tried once unintentionally. KRooonngg sound and straight mati engine. Heart stopped for 1 sec.

Clutchless shift can be done, but within 3k and below
find the right revs then put it into gear or neutral but if you miss time it, sure kkrraanngg which is not recommended at all....

So if your clutch KOed, at least still can do something about it

and LCP doesn't reduce your top speed, mine doesn't smile.gif

Fitted 2 medium sized bullets 2 years ago. Not sure the dimension but the exhaust sound lower a lot. Would be like more than 50%. Some people said more bullets = more power. I don't feel it..Hehe..

What I know is, try to get branded made bullets because that will last long..something like made in taiwan..Don't get locally/china made..People advised me one.

Too light of course will reduce but normally LCP are only 50% lighten and still runs okay, that is the difference

But lighten flywheel in the fray sure ler doh.gif
If I were you, I rather invest in a better clutch instead, less slip and more power transferred to the wheels wink.gif

thats not the case... yes top speed will reduce if the angular momentum of ur rotating assembly reduced... but lighter weight of a car does increases top speed...

Still using 2 of them. Fit nicely but the back ones, easy to get hit and scratch when over sharp high bump..Is alright. No damage to internal bullet and piping..

Using s-flow. Before that straight flow. After that, changed to good quality s-flow, pickup seems better....So now, quiet and nice sound ^^

If you are getting s-flow, make sure ask the unker to test the sound..cheapo one usually RM1XX but good ones near RM300 or more.

Cheapo s-flow also won't be that quiet..Good ones very quiet.

I only believe , more bullets = less exhaust noise... But heavy..haha~

totally no plans to change my muffler jor .. just last weekend i changed to Straight Flow coz my stock muffler kaput d ... changed for RM250 ...

problem is the Straight Flow's sound blardy noisy although it has a solid sound but still disturb my peaceful driving ... LOL

my car front tyre ... if i go through hump ... it will have some weird sound ...

i just change my absorber, but the sound is still there ..

what is the problem then ? is it the lower arm spoil d ?

when the moment the front tyre after go through the hump ... then want to hit the flat surface road ... again 'tuk' (is just like the moment all the weight press the suspension time then got the sound again)

the sound generated when my both front tyre cross the hump together...

Wear and tear items are like that, you changed 1 to new, the others still old, weird sounds will still come

Do check your bushes, absorber mounting, front lower arms and etc

they go across the hump ... very soft and no sound ...

mine one ... go across the hump ... weird sound ...

my car also like Kyusuke car, front got some strange sound when going over a hump or potholes. changing tie end rod manages to reduce the sounds. guess there still other thing need to be changed. you should also check your mounting.

change your lower arm. and advisable to change quickly as the bush might come out from the lower arm when you steer corner too much or hard. this will makes the tires fall out and damages all the things that connected to your tires.. sweat.gif

its like, once u remove your feet from gas pedal, the car slows down very fast.
might be good for braking, but bad for FC in a way.

if go up genting, u kena keep revving the car else car stops and when u stop the gas, lol.

guys, i find that of all the gas i tried, i'm settling for ESSO Synergy.
very happy with the Synergy97, today i bravely try Synergy95 rm50... very smooth! acceleration smooth without rough sounds, i love it! so far the only petrol havent really try is BHP and Mobil (coz hard to find the gas station in my area)

not worth it. changing knuckles involve too much work for a set of OEM rims!
might as well go buy PCD100 rims which you actually like.

not safe. later rims crack, u will cry... whole car slide on tarmac

p/s: lately saw some modified OEM alloy rims in mudah.my.
i hope the buyer knows what he is getting lei.
most of these modified rims are actually trimmed or skimmed rims of OEM proton rims.
i wonder if the structural integrity is still intact after those skimming. dangerous yo... hmm.gif

Side track: In M'sia, I recall Esso officially took over Mobil last year. Middle of this year, Esso starts to rebrand itself, i.e. renovate/upgrade existing Esso outlets and rebrand Mobil outlets to Esso.

Smiles points are good. 1000 pts can exchange for RM15 worth of petrol. That's 1.5% rebate.

tat day i go pump at petronas, must insert credit card first but i insert the mesra card first..
and it said lift up nozzle and pump...
i tot free pump then go for a full tank...
