QUOTE(yhtan @ Apr 12 2010, 12:07 AM) but there is term and condition for applying that platinum debit card if i'm not mistaken Indeed there is.Platinum debit Mastercard - RM20,000 of deposit - 1.50% rebate - Rebate applicable only for spending up to RM6,000/month Premier debit Mastercard - RM200,000 of deposit (Privilege Banking customer) - 2% rebate - Rebate applicable only for spending up to RM9,000/month This card is already in the market far longer than most other debit cards but somehow it is not very popular with Malaysians. |

If you have 20K would you keep it inside a bank? And need to spend 6K monthly to get rebate. This is only for the rich people. But then again, the rich doesn't need these rebate anyway. |

Platinum debit Mastercard - RM20,000 of deposit or you have platinum credit card from other bank. - 1.50% rebate - Rebate applicable only for spending up to RM6,000/month. This in not true. |

QUOTE(Syd G @ Apr 12 2010, 09:47 AM) Yea why would I wanna park RM20k at 1.0% to get 1.5% rebate that I'll only get if I spend RM6k and above -.- You guys might want to re-read my previous post. I said the rebate is only applicable up to RMxxx spent in a month. For the Platinum debit Mastercard, it means only RM1 - RM6000 spent in a month will be entitled for the 1.5% rebate. Any amount spent above RM6000 in month won't get any rebate. The rule is almost the same as their credit card. By the way, for the regular debit Mastercard that gives out only 1%. You do not need RM20,000 of deposit. I am not sure of the minimum balance must be kept inside the account at all time but i am sure it's between RM1 - RM20 only. Rebate for their regular debit Mastercard is capped at only RM3,000/month though. QUOTE(Syd G @ Apr 12 2010, 09:47 AM) I've been paying stuff with my cherry card and so far so good. I'm impressed Reward system is bizarre, though. Cash rebate is like what ? 0.16% compared to Alliance Bank's minimum 1% ? QUOTE(GHz @ Apr 12 2010, 10:43 AM) - RM20,000 of deposit or you have platinum credit card from other bank. I didn't know this. Anyway, i copied all the information from their website.QUOTE(GHz @ Apr 12 2010, 10:43 AM) - Rebate applicable only for spending up to RM6,000/month. This in not true. I believe it is true as i copied it from Alliancebank.com.my. Spending up to RM6,000/month means only the first RM6,000 spent in a month will get the rebate, similar to their credit card rebate system. And it is usually written like this in all other American websites. Why would you guys think i was saying only monthly spend more than RMxxx will get the rebate is just beyond me. |

QUOTE(Syd G @ Apr 12 2010, 12:57 PM) @MilesAndMore Sorry. Not too sure about that but i guess yes, there will be some sort of penalty. But for the regular debit Mastercard which gives 1% rebate, you just need to keep RM1 - RM20 (pretty sure it can't be any higher than RM20) inside the account at all time Ah.. now I understand Need to maintain the RM20000 deposit also right else kena fine? |

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Apr 12 2010, 01:31 PM) No penalty. It is not privilege account. I own Alliance Premier Debit MC under Privilege Banking and there is penalty for this account if the monthly balance falls below the minimum requirement. This post has been edited by winner: Apr 12 2010, 09:35 PM |

The Public Bank D2D Card, I can use it like a credit card right?
I read about something along 'Verified by Visa', what's that? Do I have to activate that in order to use my card like a credit card to make online purchases? This post has been edited by ace.princess: Apr 19 2010, 04:49 PM |

Yes.QUOTE(ace.princess @ Apr 19 2010, 04:49 PM) The Public Bank D2D Card, I can use it like a credit card right? The catch is that you must have money inside the card in order for the payment to go through. With credit card, the bank will pay on its credit card users behalf first. Other than that, yes. It works just like a credit card. QUOTE(ace.princess @ Apr 19 2010, 04:49 PM) I read about something along 'Verified by Visa', what's that? Do I have to activate that in order to use my card like a credit card to make online purchases? It's like secondary protection to prevent unauthorized online use. You will have to activate it if the sites you are going to buy something from require Verified by VISA password. Otherwise no. |
