If you make the payment straight from www.publicbank.com.my, then no. You won't get any cash back. You will need to go to the counter (Astro or TNB for example) and swipe your card there in order to be eligible for the cash back. You might also want to know that direct debit payment for Air Asia ticket is not eligible for any cash back either. |

So the banks do make this distinction? I was always under the impression that using the card whichever way we choose ie whether auto-debit, physically swiping at retail outlets and even online payments was a swipe. I learnt something today. You might also want to know that direct debit payment for Air Asia ticket is not eligible for any cash back either. addendum: oops, is there a difference between credit cards and debit cards when it comes to swiping in the context of getting cash rebates? Thanks. This post has been edited by wongpeter: Oct 8 2010, 04:19 PM |

Hello everyone,
I have questions regarding Maybank2u and their Maybankard Visa Debit. This is my requirement: I can interbank transfer online. (eg: Maybank to Bank Islam) I can use Maybank2u online to send money to my friends from the same bank (maybank to maybank.) Can I do this with just Maybank Debit Card and apply maybank2u online banking? No need to open savings account? For your information I have tried this before with Public Bank Visa Electron Debit card and link with my pbeonline banking but their online banking can't do interbank or same bank (public bank to public bank) transaction. I call their customer support they tell me to open savings account. Thanks in advance, |

Outward interbank fund transfer from your PBVE is not possible but you can still transfer the money between your PBVE and any of your other savings/current account held with Public Bank. I am 100% sure of this as i had done this many times before last time. |

I need a VISA card. So I can transfer money from my Paypal to my VISA card.
My criteria would be: 1. I don't want to pay the RM50 service charge. So it'd have to be a debit card,... unless the government waive the service charge during the upcoming budget. 2. Able to transfer money from my Visa Debit card to my savings account. 3. No annual fee if possible. 4. Good exchange rate when converting the I receive into my VISA card from USD to RM. Anybody can help/share their experience? After I get this VISA card, I will: 1. Cancel my Alliance Debit MC. Close savings account. 2. Cancel my HSBC VISA credit card...again, unless the Govt waive the service charge for next year. |

You can simply make a direct withdrawal to your local bank account. Hmmm, just checked the Withdraw to local bank option and just realise there's no fee if withdrawing more than Rm400. Looks like this is a better deal, and I can cancel off my HSBC credit card.
